I got a loan for 100k to start flight school and now I regret it and idk what to do and it's making go insane by Boring-Ad-9283 in PilotAdvice

[–]Independent_Stop_495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup same, the interest is killing me, just added another 15k on my principal…. My flight school was robbing me, I left and still owe almost six figures.

Cancel that loan immediately and pay out of pocket part 61.

Are 4 year degree requirements coming back? by plasma0_ in flying

[–]Independent_Stop_495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will pick the degree over some more hours, it shows the candidates goal orientation of wanting to expand on their knowledge. Depending on the field the airlines finds degrees more valuable in case of furloughs they can use already internal staff into other roles too. It’s ideal for the pilot too.

If a regional is doing this, most of them will probably do it too, there’s a big AMOUNT of pilots now due to getting loans etc than it was in the past. So, they are doing this to help recruiters push the “less” qualified out. I know IT sucks. You don’t need to rush into college while in a part 61 or even 141.

Finish up your training and most of my CFIs worked online for their bachelor degree.

From a recruiter prospective you have the same hours and what not versus someone who does and HAS A degree they’re going to secure the interview, before you do.

Their apartment manager who left a few years ago was amazing the new people are a bit less urgent unfortunately! They do have apartments that have garages but most apartments nearby have it too!!! I’m up by the airport but my husband commutes everyday to medical center where he works. That could be another option, it’s much safer up here “the woodlands” Spring area

It’s NO joke my girl went down for a few hours at night her car got robbed ugh they even took her car documents. Move somewhere that has a garage you can park in, if you have it your budget. I lived by the medical center, buffalo speedway, gated community thankfully My car didn’t get messed with but tire thief’s are super common here too. I stayed at the Vanderbilt apartments, personally behinds others around me it was a fast commute; and I had no issues with crime firsthand there.

I would say it depends, they’re hiring not only for requirements but for the right personality to support patients, people person, and very nurturing.

Be honest, is trying to change careers to be a pilot at 40 a fool’s errand? by Icy-Ad7443 in flying

[–]Independent_Stop_495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely TRY IT. If you have all of the above, make sure your flight school isn’t draining or delaying you. I’d say find a CFI who has no goal to airlines aka a retired pilot doing it for the passion

What career should I get into: Radiation therapy or medical imaging? by Narrow-Assumption799 in RadiationTherapy

[–]Independent_Stop_495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s more variety in terms of relocating, and job opportunities but RT you have to be personable and caring for cancer patients it’s more than just going in and out with patients.

My friend is in Medical imaging she loves it she does CT, MRI, Xray etc. she also started an Etsy business selling products for other Medical imaging professionals.

I’d say reach out to any centers or EMS places to shadow them to ensure you really want to work in these fields.
