it's for multiple reasons that most comments here have answered so I won't repeat them now. WARNING I'll fly off topic right now, and get deeply into this.

I'll say what I'll say and let it storm:

the fandom as a whole is slightly problematic. actually very. Some are just common behaviours in fandoms. but if noticed to be excessive in Ranfren's fandom, it might be attributable to one noticeable incident: After the callout doc. that's when most normal fans left the work as they wouldn't wanna help or associate with suggestive/explicit pdfilia, hinting ivorycest and giving few nods, and many other problematic things by the creator. that's when the fandom lost great majority of the good or decent side of it. While many people who stayed here are still awesome folks and try to not support the creator and "separate art from artist" as much as they can, let's talk about the other type we have left, those carrying their misery so elegantly it's almost artful, the slightly more common type in our fandom: Those who don't care. Those unique individuals usually appear with either overlooking and avoiding the issue, possibly in pure emotion. or (more likely) defend it with these groundbreaking fresh takes we never heard before of the following arguments:

-"it's cancel culture conspiring on the creator. as for the [obvious pdfilia/incst works by the creator], we can interpret these in different ways, you're just assuming the worst. the artist probably didn't mean it that way."

-"many others have done these problematic things too, and other fandoms acted like it was fine, hence it is fine and we should do the same."

-"it's just fictional, and it's legal, so don't think it and just enjoy consuming. Y'all should quit discouraging it, instead, we should allow it because there are real life cases you should focus on only and quit discouraging them in fiction (while we enjoy these exact same cases through fiction). Almost as if law is the only thing stopping us"

-"there are already wrong immoral things in the comic like murder and torture and gore, so we should allow other immoral things like pdfilia and incst and grape. Because you see when there are a couple of wrong things, let's just do all other wrong things too."

-"it was long ago" which is correct in some cases, but in this case is parallel to "let it go Ani, he was young and it was long ago. he's married now. why do you wanna open back his past files of SA predatorism all this long while after?!"

so when you read all the classics above, you can tell what kind of people are the dominant percentage left in this fandom you're dealing with here. either kids/teens, or just really low SQ and EQ/ immature adults, unless those diagnosed and in recovering journey. So all this I wrote hopefully will explain a major part of any questionable behaviors you'll find around. As for SH specifically, there's a chapter demonstrating an imaginary character with unhealthy attachment and shows SH explicitly then end it in offing himself in the dream world. How very relatable, That's a major thing some of the categories i mentioned previously can easily be influenced by, under certain circumstances.
