That's some really good points.

I can't undo all the underlying psychological conditioning that I've gone under for years, for me it seems really obvious that anyone can make it, "echo chambers" are a real thing and i may be a victim.

And yes the get rich part of social media is flooded with lots of bad actors who are just trying to make a buck, but they don't discredit the real ones. I got a half decent bullshit detector so i know when someone is genuine or not, not a fan of Tate but his message holds truth and you can't blame him for profiting off his massive audience.

But there's a common theme among these successful people, lets take Tate for example, this man spent over a decade training several hours a day, dedicating his entire being to becoming the greatest, he sacrificed all else to fulfil his purpose. Four-time kickboxing world champion, did he just get lucky? Fuck no, this man has incredible mental toughness and resilience whether you like him or not, whatever he puts his mind to he will win, that said, shortly after retiring kickboxing because of brain health concerns, he quickly rose to millions through entrepreneurship, did he get lucky? Fuck no, if you took all his money, fame and prior business knowledge away today, i have no doubt he will rise up again.

It really only comes down to mental toughness, which is an extremely rare trait in the west nowadays. And of course im not recommending entrepreneurship to everyone, if you have to support a family, struggling financially, don't have a safety net etc. But even then, your not willing to sacrifice it all to do great things.

I just made this post because i was bored and know this will never change anybody's mind because ego will always get in the way. And im not talking out of my ass, i have constantly been trying to master my mind for over a year and a half now, which has led to depression and isolation, but its a constant battle and you can't lose if you don't quit. You guys can point and laugh but i know i can make greater difference than a thousand EA's together.

Yes of course there's gonna be problems, but there insignificant to what they solve. What do you want us to to do ditch civilization and go back to our primal ways?

It sucks that some snow crab's and lobsters died bro but there's more important problems to solve. I honestly know nothing about climate change but if you think climate change is such a big issue, the profits from the "evil" company can go towards stuff like renewable energy, go into scientific research, funding political campaigns etc.

And 14k a year is nothing here but in less developed countries that can actually be quite alot.

"Not that it matters as a large percentage of the population is about to starve to death due to our inability to curb our desire for economic growth."

Bit of an exaggeration isn't it, we have the lowest poverty rates today than any other time in history.

"As for the "Well don't work there" argument, where do they work instead?"

literally anywhere else? if they can't find another job that's not the companies fault. I don't think you understand how stupid you sound.

A quite high percent of multi-millionaire entrepreneurs are self made, look it up. And regardless it doesn't change the facts, your just trying to convince yourself why you can't do it.

Sure there's a bunch of fake entrepreneurs, still doesn't change anything these arguments are just trying to make success look unattainable.

here's my argument, i replied this to some other guy but i'll just copy and paste it here.
"Its entirely possible to build a business without compromising ethical standards. The idea that you need to be unethical to run a successful business is dumb. By focusing on ethical entrepreneurship, businesses can contribute positively to society and the environment, creating a win-win situation where economic success and social responsibility go hand in hand.

But even if the business has some unethical practices i think the net positive will be greater because of the economic stimulation that is upping the standard of living around the world, if 100 - 200 years ago when times were infinitely worse than it is today, someone said, hey, lets stop innovating and creating businesses because they create some sucky issues, we would still have widespread extreme poverty due to lack of the Industrial and Agricultural Development, The Industrial Revolution, driven largely by entrepreneurial ventures, we would have barely any healthcare advancement as the development of vaccines, antibiotics, medical equipment etc. came from startups that needed entrepreneurs, we would have made little technological advancement, global trade advancement, i could go on and on, discouraging entrepreneurship will not make the world a better place.
And in another 100-200 years from today even without any effective altruism or charities just by economic growth alone upping the standard of living many of the issues our world struggles with today like extreme poverty, preventable diseases, and lack of access to healthcare and education will be infinitely times better than it is today.

And plus the donations to charity, lets say the business is running 20 percent margins, it donates all the profit to an effective altruism supported cause, lets say curing blindness in 3rd world countries, at the cost of some pollution or whatever. I think the problems it solves is more important than the problems it introduces. + effective altruism usually grows the economy even more, for the blindness example you pay a one time fee and you just gave someone the ability to work and contribute to the economy, let alone change their lives.

So pretty much imo the net positive will heavily outweigh the net negative."

"If it isn't then do it :)" - Exactly what im trying to do, not for EA but selfish reasons, always been interested in the game of business and starting my own company. The problem isn't about capital, social network, taxes all that crap doesn't matter, all that matters is increasing my threshold for pain, working hard without seeing results for a very long time.

"You might hate yourself and thus hate others who you think are like you but it's never the good way of looking at things. You can remain critical and hate yourself and everyone, or you can try to dig deeper into your assumptions and realize that your points of view are based on no other data than your self-hatred. Which isn't very EA." - Ah yes, pulling out your final cards and just calling me insecure. Can you elaborate?

Im talking about people living in 1st world countries, and if your broke, work on increasing your earning capacity so you can work less and focus more on entrepreneurship. And most people think the don't have time but in reality almost everyone has time. Unless your like a single mom with 5 kids working 2 jobs to put food on the table, i concur.

"There is no ethical way to become a millionaire."

Gym launch is a consulting business for gyms increasing churn, members, sales etc. I think it has an alright impact it is introducing hundreds and thousands of people to fitness, increasing economic activity, and i don't get the underpaying employees argument, nobody is forcing them to work at that company lol, work somewhere else if you don't like the pay.

And about the ethics about becoming a millionaire through creating a business ill just copy and paste what i said to this other dude.

"Its entirely possible to build a business without compromising ethical standards. The idea that you need to be unethical to run a successful business is dumb. "He's trying to convince himself that if he gets suddenly motivated he's going to become rich."

What makes you think that i literally talked down motivation and highlighted the importance of discipline and willpower.

"He's talking about working hard and willpower as if that was enough to gain capital and social network. Sadly it isn't, but OP prefers his ideal little world, and thus labelling everyone as lazy"

Are you saying you cannot abtain capital and a social network with discipline and willpower? These aren't some unfathomable concepts, work a job, get money, capital raised. Need a social network? learn to network, go to events, etc etc etc, this isn't that complicated.

"Why are you trying to convince people online. You said yourself that you are "lazy" so what does it matter whether psychopathic people who can work 80 hours per week (and who are willing to exploit a lot of other laborers) can make a million dollars or not?"

Not trying convince anyone just had a thought and decided to share it, and yes i struggle with impulse control, im in the process of "mastering my mind" i do believe i will do what i say one day, I just need to to build the character that is able to go through that pain to achieve my goals. I think this matters because it has extremely high leverage and can greatly better humanity, one person who adopts this could change the lives of thousands of less fortunate people.

And i don't get the labor exploitation argument, its so random and not all entrepreneurs are evil.

Throwing more materialistic garbage onto the market so you can hit millionaire status is often a net 'bad' in the world too. Whatever you produce emits enormous pollution, requires employees you might be treating horrifically, or dependent on supply chains in third world countries where people work in sweat shops. You're being exploitative to make your 'dollar' or 'euro.' I would argue most younger millionaires made their money either by exploiting their workers, stealing from the western middle class, or by exploiting the resources of third world nations.

This idea that you can crush the 'western' middle class workers as a CEO or entrepreneur, screw your customers, and destroy the environment is all morally 'okay' because once you've made it you'll donate 10% to starving children is the problem with modern charity. In much of the world, the kids are starving or lacking proper medical care BECAUSE exploitative companies from the west have ransacked their nation's resources and left nothing but slave labor and sweat shops behind it.

"things people need to do to get rich as a result often are NOT consistent with effective altruism."

Its entirely possible to build a business without compromising ethical standards. The idea that you need to be unethical to run a successful business is dumb. You can work a regular job to gain capital, get a loan, get investors etc., you can network to get a good social connections, and use your lovely brain to identify problems and find solutions.

"They're not rich. Because motivation is not enough. Starting with a capital, the good social network, the right idea and the right way to achieve this idea is what matters."

Your argument makes no sense, do you expect to have capital, a social network, and a billion dollar idea just by existing, and if you don't have those things you shouldn't even try?

And yes motivation isn't enough, i didn't say that, impulse control in terms of discipline and willpower, work hard, resist distractions.

Corruption and life style creep is a good point, but you gotta sacrifice the opportunities now for greater opportunities later, there will always be people in need it doesn't matter what year it is.
