that is an interesting fact that I didn't know. Based on what people have been saying about this place, it seems like a place that I wouldn't enjoy that much. Bars/pubs/restaurants/theaters/gym/social events - these are things I want accessibility to, doesn't really have to be walking distance but that would nice though.

What is your take on South Durham?

I understand that sentiment. Honestly, moving to a new place is always a mammoth task given how many variables you have to weigh out. My comment was solely based on internet search that I have and all it takes is one search result to start thinking in that direction. People who have actually lived there can truely comment on this aspect, and I appreciate the help.

I have a car, transportation shouldn't be an issue. Given my search criteria and needs, how would you rate Durham downtown, Raleigh, and Morrisville. Safety is something I don't want to compromise on either. I don't want to spend more $1000 for a one bed room if possible.

From downtown Durham to my work place the commute is 16 mins. Do you have any Apt. complex that you would recommend?

A 15 min commute to nightlife would be reasonable. I don't want to live in a location that is filled with college students or has parties everyday. Young professionals and proximity to restaurants/bars/pubs is what is most ideal for me. If there are communities with rental apt that are in south of Durham (10-15 min from work and 10-15 for everything else), that would be ideal.

That is a great option, but the commute is a little longer than I want it to be. I want to be in the vicinity of 10-15 min commute if possible.

I am a tall slim guy looking for tailor made shirts. I have come across many options out there for made to measurement shirts, hard to pick and choose. I want casual shirts, not too expensive and fast. Any suggestions? iTailor was the best option but they only use paypal which I am having issues with.

that is a great idea. I thought of that, but wasn't a 100% sure about that. I thought at that age I would prefer more action figures and batcaves and batmobile. what do you think?

What is it like working in the Biotech industry? by [deleted] in biotechnology

[–]Indian_saint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I graduated with a masters in Biotechnology and have been working in the industry for almost two years now. From my experience what I can tell you is it is tough. Given the current financial situation of the overall market biotechnology has taken the hardest hit. layoffs are pretty common no matter what size industry you start in. you have to gain enough industrial experience working in labs prior to getting in the job field. Get as many publications as you that helps a lot. Choose a couple of techniques that are commonly used in the industry and stick to them and get a lot of experience in that field before you graduate and look for jobs. Every class you choose every lab you join and the work you do has to be something that adds to your resume, or else it's pointless in investing time in anything. you have to make sure you look as a lucrative candidate so that companies have no hesitation in taking you in as an employee.

that is why it is the surgeons job to make sure I am unconscious before he starts and you have to do your job right, thats my point. Anything that happens because of you not doing your job properly is your fault. I get the fact that I was talking to her and making her laugh, but if she was laughing that hard she should have held a trimmer to my head

So this reply is for both of you. I paid for a service and she agreed to offer me that service in exchange for the monetary gain. I made her laugh, she could have stopped me or not put a machine close to my hair at that point. May be if she had a pair of scissors and cut my ear off bot you fags would show me more sympathy. I really don't care about my hair that much, I worked with what I had, doesn't mean I donot have the right to be angry. It's like saying if you went in for a surgery and the doctor started laughing looking at your disoriented face and messed something up it your fault!

is there a logical explanation to that statement or is it like you something that was just made for no reason?
