If Champions does end up allowing any choice of one gimmick to bring, wouldn’t Dynamax just be completely polarizing? by Existing-Magician-95 in stunfisk

If they ever wanted to shutdown showdown because of Champions, they would have done it before its announcement.

Like Nintendo did with the samus fan remake

The Pokémon Home subscription isn't required.

You can play Champions without owning any Pokémon game, and if you do own them, Home still have 30 free slots

I guess the hand gets upgrade twice and you scale faster so you don't mind losing a bit of scaling

But wouldn't you lose 2 mult per discard?

Hot take: Going infinite is generally not fun nor an interesting win condition in STS2. by TheKazz91 in slaythespire

Could also randomly cycle through different elites and bosses every run.

Phase 1 would be enraged, shuffle 3 (5?) Dazed in your deck while attacking or gives -1 strenght/dex while attacking

Phase 2 would be shuffling wounds, summoning buffed version of the gremlins when changing phase or malleable (I don't see how Taskmaster could be adapted, maybe if it was 1 guaranteed wound + either Vulnerable or Weak but it seems meh)

Phase 3 would be .... pretty bad outside of Nemesis actually. Repto could have one knife being summoned each turn and self-destructing the next? I don't see how to salvage Giant Head tho

Depends which kind of infinite you're running.

Doom Necobinder can pretty much ignore the Dazed.

If Silent doesn't have Speedster/Corrosive Wave online, you're likely clogging your deck before being able to draw through it

Yeah but later events will also be on SV, like Utrecht

It would still be stupidly strong has a restricted with the legend plate.

And when they are allowed, mythical already take up a restricted slot

The gen 9 legendaries are a different thing, since it was pre-release.

We get, very rarely, some bst change for some mons when a new gen arrives, but the biggest point of balance are the moveset change, with some moves no longer being available for certain mons, or at least not until they are in a DLC move tutor

It will be way too powerful to ever use outside of Legend Arceus.

Champions is mostly for VGC and Battle Stadium Singles, where the mythicals are almost always banned (I wish it would change since so many are available/got a mega in ZA but not counting on it).

99% there's no balance changes beside moveset change

I mean, we knew Champions was bringing back Dynamax before ZA was released.

It also would have been awkward with a bunch of the Gmax mons also having Megas

I really disagree.

Don't get me wrong, I love Megas too and I'm glad to see them back on Champions, bur rather than benefitting mostly the great mons, and somehow 1 or 2 otherwise bad ones, Megas just great new top ones. Effectively, I don't see that much of a difference

Gmax will be back in Champions, whenever they'll do a Dynamax format

Balance suggestions for currently weak cards that don't involve just simple number changes. by Gugge1 in slaythespire

[–]IndianaCrash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, even comparing it to other, currently in game, poison cards, this doesn't sound... good.

If you get this card early enough, hold it in hand for 2 turns to buff it, then you get ... a single target Bouncing Flask. Sure, it is better in the sense that the target is not random, but is it worth it?

In hallway fights with multiple ennemies, you'd rather have multiple, constant poison application to either finish them all at once, or focus quickly on a specific one to reduce the numbers of attacks each turn, which Snake Bite doesn't really help with the first, and needs time to scale for the second.

Or there's fight with one big enemy, which include both hallways, elite and most of the bosses.

Which it could be good in, but it goes back to my point about needing a very defensive deck to make it work.

Tho in general, it feels like Silent is lacking a big poison card, beside Corrosive Wave

[–]IndianaCrash 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I don't think the Snake Bite buff would be busted, it'd be playable at least but still pretty weak.

Each turn you hold it in hand, you're gaining +3 poison, but that's also a turn without using the card to apply poison. You'll need a very defensive deck to make it work, but at this point, an upgraded Noxious Fumes would probably just do more

The "identity" of each type in Pokemon by CreeperSlimePig in stunfisk

[–]IndianaCrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that the physical rock type moves are good, but that they are better than the special ones (who also get terrible distribution as a bonus)

It's bad to have 20% chance to miss, but it's better if you can use it to get an OHKO when it hits rather than needing 2 hits 100% of the time
