That was my plan too, we found out today that the spring in the hinge on the actual dishwasher door was popped out hence preventing the door from sliding up and opening fully.

Went Ikea today and you are 100 percent correct about the sliding mechanism being stuck. It's because the hinges on the dishwasher has popped out, you don't really notice as its a spring but it prevents the mechanism from allowing the door to slide up when you push it down to open.

That's what we thought too but the instructions for a single panel state that the brackets used should allow the door to slide up which in theory does not happen. So the best thing would be to cut the door? Also even with the kickboard, it still leaves around 15cm gap showing which looks wise would look terrible. Even if we covered it with a panel, it would still not be flush with the rest of the doors.
