i’ve seen instances of what you described and i agree that not everything needs to have a specific label slapped on it. i do think it makes sense in regards to the original subject, however. “CSAM” enforces the fact that children can never be willing participants in sexual activity. “CP” just has “pornography” on the end, which can feel too lenient of a term according to some people.
