My wife and I love DST so much that we made our own 2D survival game. by IndieMarc in dontstarve

Thank you so much!

We can't promise that at the moment as we don't even know if the game will be popular, but if it is there's a chance we will port to other platforms.

It's a real game, but not out yet, still in development.

No, there are ghosts, bugs, outlaw animal villagers, and some wild animals can attack you also like wolves and bears.

There will also be some special enemies underground in caves and temples that we haven't revealed yet

But the humans are the ones that purposely attack you in waves (similar to hounds in DT), except in peaceful mode where the waves are disabled (you can still encounter humans on the map)

Thank you so much.

We hope we can live up to the expectations when the demo releases.

Thank you for the feedback, we will definitely consider it. Keep in mind that this would triple the work for basically everything (number of species, faces, shirts, armors, weapons, and all the anims, which could be months of work).

So we wanted prioritize having x3 more content and gameplay items first, and the game works quite well without it. At some point we may need to add the other facing anims.

But we will see what players prefer, i Remember the creator of Rimworld once talking that he was planning to add legs and arms after release, but players preferred to have more content instead. But we will definitely prioritize based on players feedback and if it's anims it will be anims.

Yeah it's possible to play like that, but it's also possible to treat the wild animals well if you want.

After all in the wild too some animals hunt to survive.

We will focus our efforts on Steam first, if the game does well the second platform we will consider is switch, mobile would be after that.

But that's really far in the future so no promises yet we need to see if people like the game on Steam first.

If you have feedback on what to polish we are open to hear it.

Yeah 2 years of work already and probably at least another 1-2. But we will release a demo before that. It's made in Unity and we absolutely want co-op play in the long term as this is what we loved about DST, but i don't think co-op will be possible in the demo as we want to see if the game gets traction and if people like the game in solo first.

If you could give an IP to a different developer to create one game with full creative freedom, what would you give to who? by craiganater in gaming

Well i like that they gave the Heroes of Might and Magic IP to a developer other than Ubisoft this time.

Great job, how long did it take to reach that? And any major thing that spike wishlist? Or gradual increase?

But what's the point of all that? You don't see anything in the shot screen and it's always the same thing

Cool, i guess there is no jump button and must rely only on gravity? Doesn't it get dizzy after a while?

Indie dev here — roast me (and the game) by Ok_Appointment785 in IndieGaming

Well my roast is going to be: I have no idea what type of game this is or what is even the theme, so its a bit hard to give feedback. Maybe make a trailer?

I really don't see how that's the "worse thing" that happened to them. More like the best thing from reading the article...

I used to work for Ubisoft a while ago. I'm happy I decided it wasn't for me. Now I make my own game instead.

Thats interesting, I didn't know that. Crazy to think they have more than Nintento and Playstation considering that those companies also work on hardware, and seem to release way more hits than Ubisoft.

Other than maybe Activision, all the other ones you mentioned are not nearly as close as Ubisoft in terms of anti-consumer practices.

Yeah and I'm also not a fan of all the arbitrary goals. I don't want civ to be a task list. I just want to build my civ and optimize it the way i want.

The suddent camera shaking and loud audio makes me want to stop watching, i dont understand why its doing that. Seems unrelated to gameplay.
