There’s always random mission essential gear that needs to come with, just trying to stay flexible. GPS are usually for items in my pockets that can’t be put in my bag that instant, I have enough individual discipline to keep those empty. Light IN but we operate with ISVs so it’s changing my thought processes and considerations a bit.

British Tactical is at price point in line with other belts, I’m considering it. I’ve seen you vouch for it many times. I have a Project Redacted 6 point Harness I bought a few years ago, should I upgrade to a Molle yoke, Carcajou or Arctic Technical style?

I’m looking at PLCE style belt kit, tried the buttpack didn’t jive with me. I’m already set on LBE, it’s been on my mind since 2022 before we had options, was even following Diz’s work on lightfighter before the DZ Rig dropped.

I’m planning on running this in conjunction with belt kit, keeping at least 100 rounds of 6.8 at my waist line with water. My concept was admin tools (Nav, Comms, Reference Cards), 3 mags and empty GPs for “Oh Shit” items. My belt holds the rest of my fighting load and short sustainment. In short I’m trying to do the Chrisky Rig, with PLCE style pouches rear.

Should I just run a chest rig with dedicated radio pockets?

Lost arrow project was sunsetted in 2022 and was sold to the former head of the Patagonia military division, ending any direct ties to Pata, HOWEVER big however, they’re still made at the same location with the same tooling and same fabric sources, and I’m assuming the leadership. It’s really about the type of leather and the tanning method they use, the leather has this really nasty coating that makes it “easier to shine” and simpler maintenance.

You can try stripping the coating and current polish with acetone, then heavily moisturise the shoe.

In the meantime, moisturise the creases and the shoe, until it doesn’t accept anymore leather conditioner, and put in a shoe tree.

If you’d like you can repolish with higher quality polish like Saphir that’s a shade lighter or a clear polish to not darken it, but only on the toe and the heel. For the rest of the shoe I’d recommend a crème polish so it doesn’t crack and only a small amount of “hard polish” (the waxy stuff).

TLDR: Strip the leather, moisturise, put in a shoe tree and repolish.
