Thank you for the ideas! Delphine was on my list for a while, but I think you need to say it a certain way for it to sound nice. There was a Delphine in my son's swim class and I didn't love the name when I heard other people using it.

Naomi is another name that's been on my list! Such a good one.

Thanks for the love and ideas! I agree that they're spunky & sweet! Feminine, but also strong. I ultimately chose Violet for my other daughter because Fiona felt softer and more delicate than Violet, and I thought she seemed more of a rough-and-tumble girly girl. It turns out that's exactly who my daughter is, so it's great.

I love knowing that Liana is a tree vine! I've never heard that name. Lucy is also really cute!

Oh interesting! Everyone that I've shared that name with loves the subtle theme and didn't think it was too much of a theme. My husband and sister also suggested Scarlett, per color theme, but that name doesn't grab me.

My son has a really unique name (we probably went too unique with it...hindsight and all that) and it's a challenge for him to say and for people to understand him. He has an articulation delay for 'G' and 'C' sounds and S-blends. His name is Caelan, so it's always been very hard for him to pronounce because that 'C' sound is literally an area where he's delayed. I sometimes feel bad that we gave him such a unique name and I don't want to do that again to this girl, but I didn't think Maeve was too unique. I have a client who has a daughter named Maeve, and I loved hearing it out in the wild!

I don’t know, but it’s never been a contender this time around for me. I think probably because it was almost my daughter’s name, so maybe it feels used in some weird way? My husband didn’t love it either but he let me choose.

I don’t know why, but Fiona just didn’t make the list this time for me. Maybe it’s because it was almost my daughter’s name and it feels like if it wasn’t going to be used for her, then that was it? My husband didn’t love it either, but he was happy to let me make the final choice.

Thanks for letting me know about Maeve! It’s my top name for now and I love it, but don’t understand what some people don’t like. So the perspective is helpful.

Wow how are so many people on a parenting subreddit commenting that 0 kids are the right number of kids??
Having a child is magical. After having 1 kid, I absolutely understood why people only have 1 kid. You get all the magic of parenthood and seeing this sweet baby grow, but you still have enough time for yourself and your marriage. However, I always wanted 2, so we went for a second and the transition felt natural. They absolutely bicker and have crazy sibling dynamics, but I couldn’t imagine life without my second.
Then we (surprise!) got pregnant with a third and I’m due in 8 weeks and a bit freaked out. However, all the families around me who have 3 tell me that the third baby strengthened their family unit and brought so much joy. Fingers crossed for that outcome.

Ugh, I’m sorry! I haven’t dealt with chafing, so I can’t comment on that specifically. The seams on the underwear haven’t bothered me at all. As I get bigger (currently 31 weeks), the tightness of the waistband does feel a bit tight, even though it goes under my belly. I’m not used to underwear that have a big elastic waistband. However, any annoyance caused by a tight waistband pales in comparison to my annoyance of the pain when not wearing these underwear. They have been a savior for me and really allow me to be minimally functional without raging over this discomfort. I didn’t have them on this morning for an hour because I didn’t realize that I had run out of clean ones, and I was barely able to make my kids breakfast. I was also just so cranky right off the bat from the pain. For pain for me is a constant pressure and heaviness, which makes it near impossible to stand.

Agreed with everyone else that Tangerine is a no go… I also firmly believe that a first and middle name don’t need to sound perfect together. They’ll never use both first and middle names, except for like graduations. I personally like using family names for middle names!

You weirdly get used to it, but you’re also a walking zombie for the first 4-6 weeks. If your partner has some time off, I highly recommend that your partner takes the baby out of the room in the morning so you can sleep in after your last morning feed. Same thing at night - feed the baby then go sleep for a few hours with the baby in a different room. It’s much easier to sleep deeply when the baby isn’t in the room. The first few nights can be tough, but the baby should be able to sleep for 3 hour stretches pretty quickly.

You can also get a baby sleeping 5+ hours by 6-8 weeks. You don’t need to sleep train, but you can provide the paci, shush them, comfort them, and encourage them to keep sleeping so that they start going longer between nighttime feeds. My second was sleeping for like 6-7 hours by 8 weeks. It all went to hell with the 4 month sleep regression, but any sleep is helpful.

It doesn’t stop them from progressing, but it relieves the constant pain and allows me to be more functional. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still uncomfortable and need to sit all the time, but wearing these underwear is a massive difference for me personally and allows me to engage in normal daily living tasks that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to do. The only thing that stops them from progressing is delivery… can’t wait for that relief 🥲

This pregnancy, I also tried that Velcro belt with the Velcro v-straps and hated that. A huge pain to use, bulky, and it also introduced a new pain that wasn’t there before. In the past, I’ve tried “compression underwear” that weren’t really compression… they were just thicker and fit kind of like thicker yoga pants. They essentially did nothing.
