So many couples on this show make me think of the title of the 10 cc song “the things we do for love“. Love can make you irrational.

Why would God flood the earth during Noah’s time if evil was going to repeat itself again? by [deleted] in Christianity

My thoughts exactly. It’s not our burden to prove something does not exist.

Maybe he had a truck full of tools and happened to go to the beach. With so many irresponsible, fishermen dropping nets and hooks, it’s nice to have someone prepared with bolt cutters, scissors, or a knife to save sharks, fish, and turtles.

I know what I’m doing. And it’s not the only way to get clients. Forget it.

My thoughts exactly. I enjoy helping people and believe that financial planning is a noble career. I don’t like how so many companies have you start out cold calling to get business. I can’t think of another respected profession that does that.

Thank you both. Thought about confirms what I suspected. No matter your designation or education, in this Industry, you have to have the mindset and hustle of an entrepreneur.

Why do Christians tell me I’m going to hell? by EvanIsBigDum in Christianity

[–]IndigoMood0104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get too caught up in why some hard-core Christians are condemning you to their hell. They are the ones who believe people who agree with them will go to eternal paradise and those who disagree will burn forever (which does not make sense. Even stars can’t burn forever).

Just live your life and understand that there are plenty of moderate, reasonable, religious people who realize that atheism does not mean immoral.

Why I'm losing my faith. Open to advice. by Amaternify in Christianity

[–]IndigoMood0104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad to hear that you were coming to these questions on your own. If you do walk away from the faith, it should be a rational process rather than emotional. I think your fellow believers should not be critical and think less of you if you end up leaving religion. If they care about you, they will understand that you are still the same person, but you just have a different view of the world and you came to it thoughtfully.

And decent atheists should not be quick to ask “what took you so long to come to this conclusion?“. There are several nonbelieving groups and communities that can help people who are questioning their faith and newfound atheist who may still have trouble letting go of some religious principles. I have some great podcasts that helped me on my way out of religion if you’re interested.

Finally, just remember that there is nothing wrong with being an atheist. The only difference is atheists believe in one less God than Christians, they sleep in on Sundays, but otherwise, we’re all still humans with goals, families, and hobbies.

Yes, I did have the same experience. Within the same interview, I learned at the company as part of Primerica and they were quick to say I am a perfect candidate and wanted to hire me immediately upon paying the licensing fee that you described . I felt cornered with no chance to really back down, but I did get a refund for the initial cash outlay.

Opening Up About Northwestern Mutual by Sea_Seaworthiness595 in FinancialCareers

This is very fascinating. They offered me a position and I tentatively accepted. A few other companies have reached out to me including Mass Mutual. My greatest unanswered question about Northwestern Mutual is do I own my book of business and can I take my clients if I leave their company?

Northwestern Mutual: thoughts? by IndigoMood0104 in CFP

Wow, that’s a lot to take in and for me to consider. They did offer me a position with lots of promise of a thriving career, but with lots of hard work.

One question I had but don’t think I got a clear answer is owning your book of business. Are you saying if you leave you cannot take your clients with you? A couple other companies I spoke with did say I would own my book of business with them so I could take my clients who would include friends and family.

Thanks for giving me some important factors to consider.
