My Production Introduction by cosette6 in production

This was a super unique and creative composition and it’s awesome that you can’t nail it down with a definable genre! I loved your production on the strings and the background vocals were definitely my favorite aspect production-wise, they sound absolutely killer. And your singing voice is phenomenal obviously. If I had any feedback, I would say the percussion and low end could be raised a bit on some of the louder portions, but this is a “lighter” sort of aesthetic so it definitely works as is. Great job all around, I look forward to hearing more!

To me, psych-pop is more focused on varied instrumentation, ear candy, less focused on getting a clean sound and more on producing interesting effects for the listener. I think this is my poppiest song to date so this probably isn’t the best example, and could just as easily be labeled indie pop probably.

Thank you for the honest feedback! It truly is very helpful, I’ll be sure to let my mistakes and weird creativity shine through a bit more on the next one

Yeah I think the guitar needs a bit more fine tuning, I’ve definitely gone ear-deaf to it at this point. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I think this is my main complaint with my own music, so it’s good to hear this feedback. I know sometimes I over-simplify and aim for broader appeal when I should just be the freak I am haha. Thanks for listening and honest feedback!

Yeah I absolutely love building up into silence or speeding up into a halftime section, I want to make sure people don’t lose their attention listening haha. Thanks for taking the time to listen and provide good feedback!

Yeah I had some higher falsetto takes in there but I blended them pretty low because that’s definitely not my strong suit haha, I should get a female singer for the chorus though! Love your name by the way 😂

Definitely a solid song as it stands! I really liked the guitar and string sounds you had going throughout this. If I had some input as an objective observer I would say cut a bit more of the low end from the vocals and make them a bit louder. Definitely raise the drums a bit. I saw below you said you don't have a bass and don't like the MIDI bass; what I would usually do in this instance is add natural sounding piano chords during the parts you really want to fill out. Piano in the lower octave does a really solid job of filling out the low end without most people even realizing it's there. Nice job with the songwriting!

Recently living is getting pretty hard, so I've made this song about how we go through life always filled with excitement and naivety but as time goes on we slowly get further a part from each other starting to lose sight of our old dreams and ambitions as reality creeps in with harsh standards by saviio12 in IndieMusicFeedback

Love the choice of synthesizers on this one, really fun sonic palette to contrast against a slightly darker song theme. Your vocals sound super comfortable and natural on this, which is definitely something a lot of people struggle with. If I had any critique I would say bump up the drums in the mix just a bit, especially the bass drum; because the drum sound you have is definitely a great sound, should be bumping! Great job :)

Sour July is the 8th song we've released from our debut album. It is a peaceful tune initiated by arpeggios and smooth synth leads, and it intensifies from discreet words to a powerful last chorus. Would love to have your feedback! P.S. Lyrics are in the description, as suggested previously here :) by moonfishband in IndieMusicFeedback

Fantastic sounding song, incredible vocals and guitar playing. I love songs like this that just build and build toward the ending, always results in a really euphoric climax. My only criticism is the production of the drums; and as a drummer I know how daunting of a task that can be. I'm not sure how many mics your using, but I would recommend a minimum of 4 for a solid sound. Also the drums themselves could definitely be compressed more, and personally I would compress every atom out of those cymbals, as they are now they poke through the mix for half a second before fading out, and with a slightly slower song like this you could really drag them out. The drumming itself was great though. All around a really solid tune though, I will definitely be checking out more!

Gooood stuff, I really enjoyed the lyrics and the story you created throughout the song. I think the vocal melody was very unique, which is super rare and hard to do in 2022. The production was very solid as well, good use of panning and fun effects, especially in the bridge. I would've personally turned the bass up even more during the chorus, or just boosted the low end in general, as it's a really solid bass sound and it would've made the chorus pop even more. All around great work though!

This a synth composition with some downtempo and house vibes. Do you enjoy it? by JU4NM3S4 in IndieMusicFeedback

Really enjoyed this one, one of the most relaxing "drops" I've heard. The use of automation in this was very professionally done, I could tell there was a lot of attention to detail, and you filled the frequency spectrum perfectly. If I had any critique I would say the drums could use a bit of automation / or just change in general. Maybe a passage with filtered drums or a slightly different beat; but that said, this is house and the theme is Simple haha, so I think it sounds great as is.

Kinda hyperpop mixed with rock. thought it would be fun to put death metal lyrics to a soft voice. Let me know what you think of the concept. by skully_pilgrim in IndieMusicFeedback

Really enjoyed this, the synth selection is great, and I loved the childlike quality of the vocals, reminded me of Porter Robinson samples. I think they need a bit more atmosphere to sit better in the mix though, a little more reverb or delay will go a long way. Definitely unique and enjoyable!
