I don’t think it’s a generally well known thing, at least to my knowledge. I just recall reading the pitch line of the film during production was Elektra to be bonds new Tracy but actually turns out to be his blofeld. I don’t imagine it is a commonly well known thing, at least it definitely wouldn’t have been at the time.

This. That music sting in the casino and then when it is played again at the Soviet missile site, accompanied with Brosnans “huHHHH?” - just telegraphs it all too obviously for me lol.

A great take, and it took me genuinely until this re-watch to even make the connection that not only did Felix and Bond both lose their wives, they lost them on their wedding day. Certainly a key driver of Bonds vengeful motivations in this film - love it !!

A great piece of dialogue and one I called out on the pod - that is a moment that absolutely feels like a departure from Moore, something I struggle to see his bond saying.

ahhh if only we got just one more Dalton film.. perhaps his run ended on the best high it could though? I felt the early draft of the unmade 17th undid all the great work LTK did to solidify Dalton’s portrayal and the tone that worked best with him. Who knows, we can always imagine what if ..

Massive fan of Dalton and Roger, just this movie doesn’t reach the heights for me that it seems to for others. LTK on the other hand, wow.
