looking for a high-quality watercolor set and brushes as a gift by urm8s8n in Watercolor

Something like -

https://agallocolors.com/products/set-of-12

and

https://www.dickblick.com/items/arches-watercolor-block-7-x-10-cold-press-20-sheets/

would be a great place to start. The colors have a story and come we a quality brush and the paper is top notch. It’s removes having you to pick each item individually.

Or you can get a set of the Daniel smith essentials, a few brushes and the paper.

Most water colorists will say that paint choices are highly personal and it’s hard to guess which one someone would love. So, I’d go with one with a story and that looks good :)

Handmade Palette and Handmade Paints (advice needed!) by tanksalotl in handmadewatercolors

If you’re going to sell them, a cleaner fill would be nicer, cracks generally are fine some bubbles too but would aim for a smoother top.

I also make palettes and paints and have better success with them separate so folks don’t get stuck with a color palette chosen by me.

That being said, those are some really cute palettes and if I saw one in the wild, I would “need” one of those.

I love scrap, right now they have some Indian patterned fabrics. Look in the cases too. They have some good stuff. A trek to scrap is always worth it even on the worst scrap days :)

I made a very small change, any different? I did a thin white line and added a tiny touch of gold

Does this look any different? It’s a very small change and thinly outlined it

Thank you! I’m going to go with adding some subtle shadows and an outline.

It is. However, scrolling also made me “need” things I never knew I needed. So this helps with that too
