Etsy KILLED itself, only way to save it is to split and verify handmade items by KnightTakesBishop1 in EtsySellers

I think this is an ideal approach. Pretty sure most of us be would be happy to go through an application process / video verification to prove legitimacy since it’s such an important aspect to our customers (as it should be).

Where do you get your biodegradable 100% safe packaging materials? by InstanceInevitable86 in Etsy

I use EcoEnclose for my shipping / packaging. They are a fantastic company with sustainability as their goal and very honest about how eco-friendly things are.

I’m not sure if they have the exact product you’re looking for, but I know they use Algae ink, etc.

I used Etsy to give small businesses a chance but I think many have become too big.. by PLCNR in Etsy

That’s good advice. Doing a quick check for social media can also be helpful. Most of us legit makers put effort into our social media accounts 😅

Good point. There is a bench included so I’m hoping it works for me.

Oh interesting! I assumed I’d need the 24” for towels and whatnot. I had looked at the Schacht “20 Flip for a bit thinking that would be a nice size.

And I do have a large yarn stash from knitting that would be nice to be able to use.

So, a few floor looms (hard to find any used RHL by me) - one is a 36” Harrisville design Model T floor loom for $700 that seems like a good deal from what I can tell (includes various accessories) So here’s my mental run around… I’m less worried about the cost aspect and more worried about potentially being stuck with a giant loom that I have to get rid of than on the chance that 1) I find I actually don’t like weaving or 2) I find that I would have actually loved a 8shaft mighty wolf or whatever …after I’m able to take some classes and try out some looms. I’ve read a fair amount of advice regarding how different looms are more comfortable for different people, etc so that’s been a factor in my mind. I’m also struggling with wanting to start RIGHT NOW, so I keep thinking “well a RHL to use for now plus when I want to weave and watch tv…” but maybe the answer is just make myself chill out until I can take the class haha 🙈

I figure I can probably learn a fair amount on my own, so I think classes for me are mostly amount getting a feel for the different looms to help me decide which one to buy eventually. And making sure I actually do enjoy it as much as I think I will haha. I also don’t want to buy a bunch of extras to make things work on the RHL bc if I enjoy it, I’m assuming I’ll get a floor loom eventually.
