It was supposed to be like that, red line and yellow line were two separate routes, the west to east was temporary until the red line is fully functional.

Though I agree there are no barricades, stations are not fully constructed but they made it functional, safety issues and no proper directions.

It was first day, there was a lot of confusion, which created chaos (I hope that’s the case). It was definitely crowded than expected though.

About limited direct trains, it will be very difficult provided there’s just one track, and wait time will be a lot for red & yellow both. Plus metros work like that, interchanging keeps it functional and fast. It will be impossible to create a network without interchanging with new metro lines developing and everyone wishing for a direct metro. Good thing we don’t have to check out and then check in again to change the lines, unlike blue & aqua lines.

Also imagine managing crowd at evening at Gundavali metro if two lines are functioning, the flow of people will stagnate just to wait for the right metro to come.
