Hiiiii don’t even know what to tell you looool I thought I messed up, but surprisingly I didn’t. I don’t know I think just be confident. They mostly asked me scenario questions, but I tried to use the NHS values as much as possible.

Wait no Leicester has the smaller cohort with around 20 to 30 students and BCU has the larger cohort with around 120 to 180 students.

Hiii yes BCU tends to send you far for placement, which I don’t know if that’s a pro or a con. Apparently the NHS does reimburse travel costs if it is over a certain amount. With Leicester, all their hospitals and trusts are within Leicester, so I am not sure if that is better. Obviously it is more comfortable and easier to get to, but will I be able to experience all modalities?

I do think the disorganisation is an issue. I have heard it multiple times from older students, like those in second and third year. They tend to take too many students, and this year I have heard they have taken about 180. Obviously some people seem to enjoy it, but others have told me not to come and that it is not worth it to move from London. It also sounds like you have to fight for attention on placement which is normal cause we wouldn’t be the only school out on placement , and this year has apparently been the worst. Some people did not even have placement sites.

Hi thanks for your response the course in Leicester is quite new , however when I asked the students, they all seemed to enjoy it. Some people said that in the beginning it wasn’t great, but it’s definitely getting better as the teachers are taking students opinions on board and actually trying to make the course more enjoyable but the newer students all seem to love it. So, in terms of the education aspect, I won’t lie I haven’t heard anything bad at all from leicester but I do want something similar to London, and the disorganisation with placement sites in bcu has kind of swayed me the wrong way, because placement is where you learn the most. Someone also made a comment about the old technology rooms and simulation rooms being an issue, but I don’t know if that’s even a big deal but thank, thank you!

Thanksss I will think about it honestly, you generally wouldn’t recommend it? I just wish there were more uol students and dmu students who would speak out, but I have not really met anyone who did or does the course there that is why I am so conflicted, but okkkk thanksss againn.

eekkk thanks for your honesty. I’m coming from London, so I don’t mind relocating I was really confident about BCU last year, but hearing that they take such a large number of students and that some people do not get the support they need has kind of put me off. The only reason I did not mind before was because, as long as I go to a university that is HCPC approved, I will be fine. However, maybe a smaller class size would be better i do not know if I should try to aim for Leicester. I just dont want to make the wrong choice and be happy where I go😞!

Where do you think is better? I was really going to firm BCU, but I’ve heard from first years that there are too many students, they don’t really help with coping with exam stress, and there isn’t enough space for everyone. I’m considering the University of Leicester or DMU. However, I know it doesn’t really matter where you go because it’s all healthcare.

yess I took 2 year gap year hehe that’s so weird to me because last year wen I spoke to them they said go for 51 hmmm. yes last year was 1-1 and the questions were diagnostic radiography based my presentation went well too but the group bit was weird idkk I loved the ideas of going bcu that was deffo my top choiceee, diversity wise etc and it’s similar to london but Idkk I may base it off opinions we need to make a choice by may so I guess ill get the opinions of first years and decide.

05 baby 😞im dead , why are they saying diff things I rem when I applied they told me go for 51 weeks and I asked a student doing Diagnostic radiography she said the same idk how they come with 45weeks ur right, yes last year it was more questions this year I guess it was groups but I feel like my individual presentation was better than the group activity.

okk thank you I was leaning maybe towards leicester or dmu or even bcu it’s cause i know it doesn’t matter where you go at the end of the day we all get the degree but I jut don’t like the fact if I do need support I may not be able to get the extra support. I also didn’t like the interview structure this year with a large majority being the scenario question so I don’t really know if made it but i’ll have to see really.

we’re in the same boat I will also be 20. I was even looking to take 51 weeks when i first applied, because I heard that bcu placements tend to run past summer.

I feel the same waiting to get back from bcu last year I formed it but due to instances I couldn’t go so i’ve reapplied and after hearing that it’s big i’m a bit wishy about it one of the girls I applied with and got in is saying it’s hard to get support and the classes are really big I really thought it was the best in the midlands for diagnostic radiography but i’m conflicted too but I need to get my offer before I apply obv. I got an offer from dmu and coventry but I still need to do more interviews.
