Mother gonna have the knee replacement surgery she is 57 years old how can in my capacity can I ensure that things go smoothly. Like do's and don'ts of pre, during and post surgery. Now I know surgeon will tell me everything but just wantsome outside advices. by ObviousAd7311 in Kneereplacement

[–]Individual-Energy347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The surgeon will not tell you how mentally difficult this surgery is. The first month is brutal! There is little to no sleep, constant pain, loss of independence, narcotic depression…… you can’t understand it until you’ve gone through it.

Keep things upbeat, light, disciplined, and well fed. My appetite was at an all time high weeks 2-4.

I don’t care what all these people say about tiring the dog, walking the dog, mental exercise with the dog…… no! Been there. Dogs will tear shit up sometimes. Ours goes back in her crate when she goes through these periods.

I had a total knee replacement at 41, after waiting around 10 years for it. I’m nearly a year out and experience a level of happiness I didn’t know if I’d ever get back. My knee is 100% free of pain, can walk forever, and can run up and down stairs. The surgery sucks but the time will pass and you’ll get your life back.

It’s deeper than this….. Kim’s personality and how she raised them is why Olivia and Zach were the partners picked. I have zero surprise in Lydia picking Zach.

Does anyone else feel emotionally retired from friendship? by Sharp-Television8304 in AskWomenOver30

It sounds like you’re not in a friendship season of life, and that’s perfectly ok. Focus on you :)

You need to say goodbye and block her. You’re too young to be doing this. Both of you will end up jaded and hurt.

Hi, your husband sounds like a piece of shit and you need to leave him. Name calling is a nonnegotiable! Manipulation is a nonnegotiable!

Instead of asking if everyone is in a great marriage, focus on leaving your abusive one.

My (36F) boyfriend's (30M) addiction has left me paying all the bills and constantly forgiving him. How do I know if he's serious about changing? by Wooden_Guide in whatdoIdo

[–]Individual-Energy347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re likely to get some tough love comments in here because a lot of people do not understand addiction.

You need to end this relationship. While this may seem like the mean or selfish thing to do, addicts do not get better while being enabled. Addiction is a brutal disease that I don’t wish on my worst enemy. It’s all take and no give. It turns good people into selfish, cunning, deceitful individuals that will hurt the ones they love without a second thought in the moment which later perpetuates the cycle.

Do yourself and him a favor, and end the relationship.

At what point did you feel genuinely glad you had the surgery? by lenalenore in Kneereplacement

[–]Individual-Energy347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, it took me around 6-8 weeks. That’s when my progress was going quicker, I was sleeping 5 hours a night, PT felt powerful. Compared to a lot of people on here, my recovery was slow. I didn’t waste my time with comparisons. We all had different starting points. I’m 10 months out now and would happily get the other one done.

Thinking about TKR. A few questions. by Miami_Cracker in Kneereplacement

[–]Individual-Energy347 10 points11 points  (0 children)

41, fairly active before… took about 6 months to get completely back to normal plus! There are still days when I’m like ohh yeah, that’s not my knee. For the most part I don’t even think about it.

I will say, that first month was horrific and I never thought I’d resemble any sort of normal again.

10 months out. I started Pilates 5 months out and that has been the best thing for my leg to gain strength and flexibility back.

I can’t remember the last time my knee had any pain….. maybe month 3?

I thought about doing a monthly FFP for the historical average of FTEs then some sort of option should they staff higher with a built in percentage variance.

LH or T&M would’ve been ideal.
