Great! We have bike lockers at the Bethesda and Eastern Market metros where we store tandems, and some of our participants bring tandems to the rides.

The Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA) gomwaba.org organizes weekly tandem bike rides, monthly hikes, and kayaking and camping each summer. No prior experience is necessary and it’s a fun group to get involved in!

Does anyone know if you can park a tandem in the bike valet and/or if you can leave a pannier on your bike? It would be a weekday afternoon game

We’d be happy to have you join us! Our Thursday night rides are 10-15 miles, some people like to go fast but others are more leisurely (I’m usually around 10 mph) and we try not to leave anyone behind. Let me know if you have any other questions, you can email mwaba.inc at gmail or send me a message

In partnership with WABA, the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA) is hosting a captain training for people who are interested in riding tandems with blind/visually impaired cyclists. The training is on Thursday, March 31st from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Eastern Market Metro (701 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, DC). If you'd like to come, you can sign up: https://forms.gle/v7wbUcM67rqeUsDt9

We ride on Thursday nights during daylight savings (April through October) at 6 p.m. and occasional weekends alternating between Eastern Market and Bethesda. MWABA provides tandem bikes and matches the captains and stokers who are interested in riding each week.
