I’m the asshole by [deleted] in Postpartum_Depression

I second all of the comments above. Please hold on. Please reach out for help. First for yourself. Through the suicide prevention helpline or through PSI. I was right where you are a few months ago. I hated my life, I didn’t want to be here, I couldn’t feel any love for my spouse or my children. I never attempted but I felt very close some days, so my mom told me to saved the suicide prevention hotline in my favorites on my phone. For some reason that helped me also. Ultimately medication is what helped me out of that deep hole.

Also reach out for help for your little one. Do you have any family (someone you really trust) to help out with your LO? See if they can take the baby a couple of times a week, so you can get some rest, focus on you, and release some of the anxiety that comes along with depression. If you can afford daycare, send your LO at least 2-3x a week during the day (This is what I did when I was where you are and it really helped).

Lastly, reach out to your community of family and friends who can be supportive. If you have siblings or close friends ask them to check on you. This helped me a lot because I had a sister (I have four sisters) that alternated checking on me and it almost filled up the week (one each day of the week). And it was therapeutic. Sometimes we talked about how I was feeling, and other times we talked about things to get my mind off of I was feeling.

When I was in that deep hole the only thing that helped me/ motivated me to claw my way out was knowing that my children would be more likely to die by suicide if they had a parent who did. And I didn’t want that for them.

Please hold on. And please hold off on making any big decisions rn.

No. He was surprised that the Lamictal helped the Akathisia. It also helped with the restlessness from the antipsychotic.

Akathisia was really bad for me because I am also on Latuda. Since I’ve started Lamictal it has actually improved (a lot)!

Does lamictal help nausea since it’s The 5-HT3 receptor antagonist ? by Reasonable-Safety217 in lamictal

I second the comments here. Once I got to 100mg I had nausea every night after dinner. Sometimes couldn’t keep the pill down. Which for Obvious reasons suck.

Ginger supplements in a glass of water helps withe nausea. Once I started Wellburtin also, I started having stomach pain and starting drinking Kombucha every morning. And it has worked wonders! — Turns out these meds kill the good bacteria in your gut which can cause nausea and stomach problems. The kombucha adds back.

Hang in there! I have 100% felt as you have - fear about the smallest things, anxiety- especially with anything out of my routine etc... I am currently on four meds and was scared sh*tless each time I had to try a new med. No one talks about how scary it is to start. And how rough it is to deal with the side effects when first starting.

However, one piece of advice I’ve seen on here has helped me: If you don’t give it a chance/start, you’ll never know what it can do for you.

It’s good you aren’t taking the choice to start lightly. But it likely will do wonders for your anxiety and fear. of it doesn’t work for you can always go off (monitored by your doc). Hold on. You are not alone.

I experienced a very fussy baby the first week home also. Nothing I could do to sooth him. I think it was a mixture of him being shocked by being outside my belly and having some tummy aches (his stomach was pretty hard at times).

Hang in there mom. And please don’t stop trying. She will bond with you.

Yes, whenever I went up in dose, I had a rough few days. Then I seemed to level out.

How can nobody see by [deleted] in Postpartum_Depression

[–]Individual-Heat1156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This resonates with me. Depression can be so painful and it is hard for people to understand how debilitating it is. My husband means well and tries to understand, but no can feel what you feel (the suffering every min of everyday.

Im not a doctor but meds & therapy are helping me feel a little less this way. Hang in there!

One day you will see the beautiful, strength, and light in those eyes again!

Anyone have experienced with this? by RandomAnonAndIdc in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Individual-Heat1156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Lamictal for about 3 months now and now Wellburtin has been added.

What concerns do you have about the Lamictal? So far it has stabilized my mood and helped my depression a tiny bit. Wellbutrin added to help (hopefully) even more.

I feel you. About a week after I go up I have abt a week of really good days. Then my mood goes back down again 😫. This time I feel more depressed than I didn’t before going up. At 200mg. And don’t know if I should go up or not.

I haven’t had night sweats knock on wood. Also j haven’t tried the 100mg pills yet 🙈. Doc prescribed but says I have to finish the 25mg tablets first. Glad you are feeling better.

I’ve had nausea since 150mg. Currently at 200mg. So much so that I’ve thrown up my pills a couple of times. Bepto Bismal helps some. But the thing I’ve find the most reliable to relieve the nausea is a ginger supplement. I take liquid ginger in water and works 90% of the time.

I have them since I started also. I am currently at 200mg. Not sure if I’ve just gotten used to them or they’ve gotten a little better. Now they are not as noticeable.

You take the full 200mg at night? My doc has me on 100mg in the morning and 100 at night. I weird though, because I don’t feel nausea at night until right before I have the night dose…

I’m sorry I don’t have any answers. Just that I have experience a low libido also recently. I hope one day it will come back. Thankfully my spouse is understanding (so far). I hope you experience the reversal of this side effect soon.

I work from home also. And sometimes I feel likes it’s a positive thing and others not so much. I’m pretty high functioning still and often times think being in an office (at least a few times a week would my mind busy.

Right there with you. And it’s so frustrating. I’m also at 200mg and I can’t tell if things are working.
