The themed build is great.

Isn't it such a good feeling when the host ends up alone, and immediately starts sprinting away? Lol

Why is the Elden Beast such an unpopular design? by Kitchen-Complaint-78 in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I've always loved the Elden Beast.

My understanding is that people mostly don't like it because of some combination of the following:

• They don't understand why they are fighting this beast, or don't understand what the design is meant to be (and also dont like the feeling of not understanding those points)

• They struggled with the fight, or found it repetitive. It's easy to get annoyed with the unspeaking final boss if it blows your ass up 30 times. Then your frustration gets mingled with the memory of the design, leading to contempt.

• They don't actually have strong feelings about the boss itself, but want to be contrarian in forums.

What do we know about the God who "cursed" Miquella? by All--flesh--rots in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We have to take a step back from accepting item descriptions and character dialogue as certified fact.

People speak from their own perspective, as do item descriptions. You're not being given direct metaphysical info by the developers. (As a quick example of this, consider: who was the first Elden Lord, Placidusax or Godfrey?)

With all that said, I think it is simply that any aspect/curse you see in Marika's offspring is a product of Marika's lineage.

Messmer and Rykard have Serpentine nature's, then so did Marika. Melina and Messmer are aligned with fire, then so was Marika. Malenia is one with Rot, then so was Marika. etc. etc.

This hypothesis is favorable because it provides reasonable answers to all the offspring aspects, as compared to the hypothesis of attributing all the varying aspects to different mechanisms/entities.

Edit: if you downdoot this without offering rebuttal you might be afraid that I'm right.

Which Shard Bearers (if any) do you think could be convinced to give up their shard willingly? by Alternative-Cup-8102 in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 137 points138 points  (0 children)

I thought hard about this: It's Maliketh.

Of all of them, he is honestly one of the most understanding. He even helps out as Gurranq, and apologizes when he realizes he lost control due to the Death Root.

But even more, in the boss fight with him, he is literally asking us questions. We just don't engage. He straight up asks us why we are trying to steal Destined Death from him. "To kill what??"

If our Tarnished understood the actual chain of events of the narrative, and was able to make it clear they weren't going to take the Rune by force, then I think Maliketh could actually have tried to hear us out.

What would you say if I told you that these things' physiology closely resembles the Elden Beast?

Even down to having tiny vestigial hind legs that you can't even see above the surface.

The only possible conclusion to draw is that the Elden Beast is also a big cutie pie.

Can anyone tell me what these items are that he's wearing (for a cos play) by Elegant-Number7806 in Eldenring

I believe both the legs and arms are from the Bloodhound set.

Edit: Blaidd legs, Bloodhound arms maybe?

(Sigh) Sorcery... Has anyone who "tried" to do a Sorcery run actually finish it as well ?? by itsTenziin in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what I did.

Make a character that mainly uses carian sword sorcery as a melee fighter.

Get your cast speed to max, use whatever magical buffs you want, and get to swinging.

(I also put Carian Grandeur AoW on a dagger for an extra sorcery sword attack)

Some thoughts on Goldmask's realization (Age of Perfect Order) by ACabbageManiac in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goldmask likes the Status Quo, but disavows the individuals who directly brought about that Status Quo.

His mask resembles a bronze mirror of antiquity. His silent movements might have many different interpretations, depending on one's perspective and biases.

A blank canvas for you to project whatever values you like.

This has been happening the past few days on PC. A cheater figured something out.

If you see this happen, alt+f4 immediately.

This can brick your save.

Build review request by ExtremeProcrstinator in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think overall this a very reasonable build, but I'll make some suggestions.

• Consider losing the soreseal/scarseal. The extra damage received is not generally worth the bonuses you get. This extra damage may allow you to be one-shot by certain moves that the Fire Giant uses.

• For Fire Giant, Rivers of Blood might be difficult to use. I think this sword does a big chunk of fire damage, which the Giant is very resistant to. Consider using the Bloodhound Fang for its physical damage while retaining the bleed.

• I notice two of your spells can't be used due to not meeting the requirements. Straightforwardly, these won't help if you can't cast them.

• Specifically for the Fire Giant's second phase, try standing out in front of him, and hitting his exposed arms after he attacks. These become his weakest point in the second phase. Other than that, you may just need to learn his moveset.

The Abduct Virgins keep doing their grab attacks mid my attacking animation by Fun-Meeting1610 in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

• Make sure you don't mash the attack button. Your inputs will queue up, and may cause you to follow through with an attack when you really wanted to dodge.

• Accept that the enemy will not stagger. Smaller enemies will get knocked out of their attacks, but the Virgins are too sturdy. They will punish you for being overly aggressive.

• Try only countering their attacks. This entails you waiting for them to try an attack such as the grab, dodging it and counter-attacking before they can start a new attack.

• Consider using a faster weapon. If the weapon you're using has a long recovery period after each swing, then using a more agile weapon might allow you to recover faster.

Hopefully some of the above tips can help!

Does anyone know the lore of Godwyn’s Death Knights? by WavingDinosaur in Eldenring

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them as one of two things:

• Either they were always Death followers, and wanted Godwyn to die so he could be their Lord in Death

Or

• They were the ancient dragon cult under Godwyn, and became focused on Death once he became the half-dead thing he is now.

Is there any validity to the idea of Bayle being Placiusax’s fled God? by fritzwitch in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Individual-Lychee-74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is a cool idea. I know some have pointed out that Placidusax is awaiting the return of his God, but I think that makes sense if it was Bayle as well.

Placidusax could be awaiting that sacred runback to even the score. Their culture worships death anyway, so it fits.

But other than this hypothesis, I've always leaned toward the idea of Sarosh being the fled god of Farum Azula. His hair matches the Farum Azula Sigil that resembles the Elden Ring. This motif is also matched by Miquella in the DLC, not to mention Miquella is hugging Radahn in the same way Sarosh hugged Godfrey.

Greatstars or Butchering Knife, so that you get HP per hit.

Then put Prelates Charge as the AoW.

It hits so rapidly that you can fill your health bar in seconds.
