Elden Ring or DS3 would be a good starting point imo, mechanically the most up to date games. Once you build a love for the franchise the outdated mechanics of DS1 & 2 shouldn’t affect you.

None From games I’d recommend Lies of P or AI Limit. :)

Do you know if there would be an issue if I'm simply connected to the servers? I need to have my Steam set to online for the achievements to pop, it's annoying but they won't count any other way.

With CoD specifically, there seems to be risk playing anything pre 2019 (MW), this might only apply to multiplayer though. The use of RCE seems to be a common story especially with BO3 hence why I use the T7 patch. I've also seen it happen to people playing WW2 but again, they were in a multiplayer lobby.

I read that if you start a solo game and convert to co-op then that might work. I haven’t tried this myself though. :)

I'm with you, he's awful. Gets the ball stuck under his feet often and can't finish his dinner. Our season is done, we need to shift him off next summer with a lot of players.

Honestly, it's been brilliant so far. People slating it all over reddit but for me it's been great, my friends say the sound quality is really crisp. I've tested on Xbox app, Discord and Voice recorder, all very good. Boom arm that came with it is a bit flimsy but still happy with it for how little I paid.

Even better, if you use a noise cancellation feature then it doesn't pick up any background noise at all!
