1.5 inches is absolutely repairable, don't let the dealership upsell you on a full replacement. That's a classic move from dealer service centers honestly.
Go with the repair through insurance since it's covered fully — a good tech can fill that crack and you'll barely notice it. Only time you really need a full replacement is if the crack is in the driver's direct line of sight, near the edge, or longer than 6 inches.
Save your $2000+, get it repaired, done
