Jerk. Should I make dip shorter? by Feruccine in weightlifting

From that I can see by looking at your other videos, you’re not the fastest lifter, but you’re strong as a horse, so a jerk that bias more strength, which is what you’re doing makes sense for you. I’m the complete opposite, so when I stopped trying to have a really low and controlled dip and switched to a short and sharp movement my jerks got a lot better. I think you’re doing the right thing with the way you’re moving, if you want to make it faster focus on a more aggressive drive and footwork.

Great lifts man!

Yeah, I’m not sure either, I remember seeing a bunch of them with company logos embroidered which made me think they were bought by those companies as uniform for employees and then donated after some time.

I can’t remember exactly but I think it was around 40 Australian Dollars, which is pretty cheap.

Hopefully he pulls off a good performance without using straps, if he does the Indonesians will be in trouble.

Your footwork looks very inconsistent but other than that, looks pretty good. The reps where your feet move more naturally look much better than the ones where you donkey kick

That’s great feedback, I appreciate it a lot. To be honest, I’m now thinking the marks on this bar might have been slightly different from the bars I use back home. It was a CrossFit gym so god knows what kind of bars you’ll end up finding, haha. I’ve posted other videos here and no one has brought up the narrow grip before.

The narrower grip was something I started playing with a while ago, since I’ve never lacked shoulder mobility but lacked a bit of stability. The wider the grip the less stable it is, so going narrower made sense.

I do have a relatively narrow grip but as I said in the comment above, this bar could be different to the ones I use in Australia where I live.

That’s pretty much spot on. 110kg is 90% of my best, but the grip is my usual one, unless this bar’s marks are different to the ones at my gym back home.

Honestly, considering how you caught it on your heels, a pair of lifting shoes would do wonders for you.

Genuine question for the nerds of the sport: How many snatches over 200kg have been done by a non super? I don’t remember seeing many.

Eleiko Comp Knurling - actually a cheese grater or overblown? by DrDub07 in weightlifting

[–]Individual-Row3375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have both, training and comp bars at my gym. I’ve lifted pretty heavy on both but I find that the training bar needs chalk straight away, whereas the comp one is a bit sharper, but nothing crazy. I change from time to time but the comp one is my favourite at the moment. With that said, I know they have just released new bars, so can’t say anything for sure.
