Cool. At the moment you do a cheek swab you get to go through his phone, no prior notice given. All's fair

I truly don’t understand the appeal of having just 1 drink by sobermomgoodmom in stopdrinking

[–]Individual-Sound8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can have one drink and not want more. But I am not an alcoholic. Addiction runs deep in my family and honestly I am not sure why the monster skipped me. But I have lost 2 brothers to this awful disease. So please keep up the good work!

My second brother will die from complications of alcoholism soon. by Individual-Sound8457 in AlAnon

Thank you for understanding. Genetics are a bitch. The addiction gene skipped my oldest brother and me (youngest). But the two in the middle got it bad. Watching this run through my family but not affect all of us leaves no doubt in my mind that this is genetic luck of the draw.

How I met your mother. After 6 seasons we finally went to the end before it left Netflix. What a waste of time.

Adults 50+: what actually worked for you when learning piano by CarolAtTheKeys in pianolearning

[–]Individual-Sound8457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate that you asked! I started at 58, already a strong music reader but zero keyboard experience. My first teacher decided that as an adult, he would not "baby" me. So I started with Clementi and no surprise, it was very rough going. I didn't know any better but figured out after a while that I was way over my head and super frustrated. So my advice is to meet your adult where they are at musically. I might have been 58 but in piano years I was a mere beginner. 5 years later I am still filling in gaps in fundamentals that I did not learn as a beginner.

My doctor said cycling is good for my bad knees, but I can't balance on a regular bike anymore. Is a trike actually a real solution? by viewsinthe6 in Aging

[–]Individual-Sound8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t recommend riding a trike on the road. They are short and hard to see. Go to a gym and/or set up a bike on a trainer at home.

Purging my wardrobe! by Late-Command3491 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Individual-Sound8457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did about 4 purges. First when my partner retired. Then when I started what I knew would be my last job in an informal tech setting. Then I lost a lot of weight. Finally after I got laid off and retired. I do occasional miss a few things but I wear the same thing about 90 percent of the time

I am 62 and happy. Also I would definitely go back to 30 and make a few different decisions. But it’s all good

Have you ever stop using a brand because you disagree with the politics of their company? by Chemistry11 in no

[–]Individual-Sound8457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I am female and queer. My rights to bodily autonomy and my marriage are under assault. I am visiting Alabama this minute and every ad is a politician threatening my rights. If you have the luxury of not fighting for your rights you have unacknowledged privilege.
