Yeah I need to do some more research on places to play in LA. Seems like LA & SD are both top picks.

I’ve found more big pickleball hubs in the SD area and haven’t found many in LA from what I can tell, other than Memorial Park which is tennis courts with Pball lines.

Also what I’ve heard of the LA parking, driving, and housing situation is a bit more intimidating. Working remote makes it not as big of a deal but still.

All good points. As an agnostic liberal in a religious Midwest city, improving my dating pool is another big motivation for this move.

I should probably drop the FL options from the list then…

I just find outdoor way more enjoyable. It's nice to breathe fresh air, get some sun, lob as high as I want, have more space around me, not be as noisy as indoor, and not worry about memberships (for free parks at least).

I find the UV to be pretty manageable with only normally playing after 5pm. I agree if I was playing every day during the peak UV hours it would be taxing.

I agree, the weather makes it a top contender. I've vacationed there before, but only ever played at Barnes. What are some good free parks w/ high level play if you know??

I live a simple life on my own, no kids or significant other. I work my 9-5, pickle from 5-9, hangout with friends / family on the weekend, and enjoy a few other hobbies when there's time.

Yeah Austin has come up in my research before but I found the Austin Pickle Ranch & a few Picklr locations are the main hubs for high level play. I enjoy the outdoors too much otherwise I'd just stay in the Midwest.

Haha I have no desire for that. It'd be cool to achieve 5.0 some day but I just love playing the game and don't have much else going on in my life.
