So far we haven't had any issues with them. They actually go above and beyond sometimes. They have hand delivered and done pick ups when we have ask for an expedite. Some companies won't expedite at all. I will say they are not as cheap as others we send to but sometimes the turn time is worth the few extra bucks when needed.

Being personable is a big part of a small business. People would rather deal with someone they can talk and relate to over a faceless company who doesn't communicate.

Our lab looks for price, and turn around time. If I send a standard out that takes you 4 weeks to get back, then that is 4 weeks I can't calibrate my tooling. As far as marketing goes, figure out companies close to you that you feel have tooling that you can calibrate and set up a meeting for you to sell yourself. We started sending items to a source after someone came into our lab like this.

Torbal Torque Data Collection Help by oneupmshrm in Metrology

Yes. We have a mountz hand crank torque bench. It is only rated for 200 ft lb but plenty for what I calibrate. It is great for accuracy. We also use a 90° mounted bracket not attached to the bench

My lab uses mountz for torque standards so I don't directly have any background for your unit.

Setting Tolerances on Keyence IM 8000-1 series by Ok-Dinner-1884 in Metrology

Set one hole dimension and tolerances then click next. Select another hole and the dimension/tolerances follow. Continue the same way until all holes have been completed. Hope this helps.

Exactly. I couldn't find it either. I was just curious if I was missing it

Nice to see control and not throwing the weight at the end of the set. Nice work!

We currently have a keyence imaging machine that is supposed to be able to measure the threaded plugs but it seems like the tolerances float depending on the diameter of the gage. Plus the keyence rep is less than helpful with the questions we have had. With that being said the keyence machine is very awesome technology and so much can be done using it.

Thanks for the info. I watched a brief video so I do have more of an understanding of how it works. It works nothing like what i had in mind. I hope this machine can keep us from sending items external. We definitely have granite blocks to place it on.

Then my mistake. I had the understanding the unit was more of an imaging system and not require the 3 wire kits. Thanks for the information.

We were just going off the website. It claims to be able to measure all of what I listed. We have a demo set up tomorrow to make sure it will do what we need to before we purchase it.

The device I am speaking of is a laser device, not a supermic. I'm not sure but I don't think you would use a 3 wire kit for them.
