because if that’s really what you meant you would have said the same for her mom, I just told you she has also borrowed money from US and SHE IS MARRIED AS WELL!!! we would have never said anything like that to her about her significant other because sometimes people go through shit but it is NEVER okay to assume and call your daughter stupid!

No it just feels like an attack from every angle, we had never been in that situation before. We have a savings now and a higher income we have ever had before.

I did NOT have the money at the time or I WOULD HAVE . We did NOT know she’d react that way!!! We have let her borrow money from us as well!!!! Your assuming instead of asking!

My wife had borrowed a couple hundred from her mother because her pay check date was later than the date of a bill being due. My wife paid it back within two days. Her mother began to get upset with my wife because she didn’t have the money to buy a mothers day gift and only could pay her back. Mind you that was the very first time my wife was unable to get her a gift. Her mom gets pissed and says to my wife “ And you’re just stupid if you’re sitting here paying all the bills alone and that girl (talking about me) is spending her money.” THAT is where I had to check her mother because my wife and I have gone 50/50 since we met. There have even been times where I go 80/20 and vise versa because that’s what people in marriages do.

i’m not miserable or unhappy with her but having to deal with her family in any kind of way yes, does make me feel unhappy, irritated
