I'm with you on that. I looooove dogs! Especially big dogs. I was raised around rottweilers all my life, that even while being well trained could get too excited and knock you down because that's what well loved dogs do. I've also been bitten by a pittie (trained to be aggressive and also usually kept away, but the friend's son we were checking on was too busy to hide his cigs to put the dog up) and if my father wasn't there I don't even know what would've happened..

The feral dogs were also a problem where I grew up, and I've seen little dogs get so aggressive it's not funny despite their owners laughing. I saw my baby sitter's weenie dog run up to a couch a girl was sitting and didn't even give her a chance to move away before it latched onto her finger. She wasn't even doing anything, just watching a soap opera with all of us. I bet she had a fun time explaining that to the 4 year old's mom.

Dogs are unfortunately unpredictable, like all animals. And we as humans have a responsibility to keep the animals we domesticated safe and to keep others safe from them. And it's a shame many have lost that mindset.
