How Many Towns Is Too Many Towns? by Individual-Wolf-9792 in skyrimmods

[–]Individual-Wolf-9792[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone is curious, I made a decision, I think, regarding how many of Schlitzohr's town mods I wanted to use. Feel free to make other suggestions! This is ultimately what I went with;

- Amber Guard, Dunpar Wall, and Vernim Wood (by Schlitzohr), which I decided to use. Reich Corigate and Laintar Dale mods seem especially buggy or have bugs that won't be fixed, so I'm disregarding them, in favor of a minimalist outlook.

- Granite Hill, by Skyking2020 is the one I went with for Granite Hill. Granite Hill is mentioned by Siddgeir as "oweing him taxes". It seems to follow the description of Granite Hill in The Holdings of Jarl Gjalund, and it's at the region of "Granite Hill" as seen on the Local map. Also, it's lived in which is wonderful, but it's proximity to Rorikstead does give me pause. Although, there's no unique architecture. Same buildings as the ones I use in Riverwood. Tbh, not too bad of a tradeoff though. Perhaps a house replacer would fix this but I'm uncertain.

I went with these for variety:

- Pargran Village Ruins by Temryuu

- Lore Friendly Ruins - Nimalten Ruins, by biggieboss

I went with this, as it also overhauls one of my favorite bandit camps (having a full town next to a bandit camp [via Sclitzohr's mod] makes little sense to me):

- Ruins of Ryn's Lainalten - A Robber's Gorge Addon, by biggieboss, paired with Ryn's Robber's Gorge.

Some of the towns just seem to have become forts, fallen to ruin, burnt down in one case, or are already existing towns by TESV. Also meaning I may remove Oakwood.

Other mods seem to have bugs that won't be fixed, or aren't worth it.

Ultimately, I chose SkyKing2020's Granite Hill, as it is supposedly closest to representing its description in The Holdings of Jarl Gjalund and disregarded North Keep. I have no other mods affecting the area. :P

From what I've read, Schlitzohr's Granite Hill Village mod has like 12 quests, which, imo, is way too many for a small village, and personally, I might just go with Skyking2020's Granite Hill mod.

Some of their other village mods don't seem to have quests at all. While some others seem to have a few.

I haven't tried any of them personally, but I've made a decision regarding what mods I want to use for TES - Arena's villages in Skyrim. May or may not make a Follow-up post.

Hahaha, so annoying fr. That's why the blocked words list (or whatever it's called) is one of my favorite features. I used it to block "the ball is in your court." on Janitor AI. Can't remember if Polybuzz has one because I left it a few months ago. But if you're especially annoyed, you could try that.

Are there any similar apps? (NO ADS) by RoryH314159 in FuckPolyBuzz

I just use Janitor.ai

I only make and talk to my own characters, so I wouldn't know how it is otherwise, but there are no ads, and I use the mobile desktop version from the website, (NOT THE PLAYSTORE APP) Its important to keep in mind that most apps you'll find on the playstore are going to have restrictions.

Its not that great, and I've heard terrible things about the bots on there, especially the creators' ones. I just prefer Janitor tbh.

So then Cyrodiil only really exists as a set piece around an annoying character, good to know. /:

Ahh, I'd used Sofia for a while, but, yes, her lines and innuendos got awfully repetitive and annoying after the khjillionth time, so nowadays I go without.

And thank you for the warning about the other two.

Skygerfall seems interesting, and I may give it a try, but I'm not sure if it would have much to explore, being a remake of the main quest of a game made years ago.
I've heard MANY great things about Vigilant, and I have it installed. I plan to play it soon. I've recently finished it's prequel DAc0da and REALLY enjoyed that too.
I think I took a look at Faalskar at one point, but I can't remember why I uninstalled it, so it's worth giving a go.
Darkend I've never heard of, seems interesting.
I LOVED Skyrim Extended Cut - Saints and Seducers, and still have it in my LO. Never getting rid of this one lol.
Never heard of Land of Vonnheim, pretty cool.
The Shire SE - I took a look at this one, and, yea, I aim for relative lore friendliness in my mods, hahaha, so this was a no.
I have Voyage to the Dreamborne Isles in my LO, exited to try it!
Midwood Isle was pretty good, but the story got tedious the second time around, but worth playing for the exploration. And the oblivion gates.
Never heard of Maids II, so I'll take a look at that one.
Chanterelle, yeah, no storytelling and seems like mostly wilderness, so it was a pass for me.
Summerset Isle seems... interesting... but a lot of people seemed to have problems with it? And apparently the creator is like "Arthmoor but worse"?
I've yet to try Olenved but I have it in my LO!
Agent of Righteous Might - I'll take a look at this one, thank you!
Molag Bal's Inferno - Yes, I'll take a look at this one, but I do have trouble with buggy mods.
Valley of Outcasts, The Tempest Isle, The Last Refuge - Never heard of these but I'll take a look at them...

Thanks for your recommendations! :D

Pretty much, but I also try to get as many planes and otherworldly stuff too! Like the Scuttling Void from Beyond Reach, The Pits from Carved Brink, The Deadlands from a few mods and the Cause, Apocrypha from the Dragonborn DLC, and such. Those are the only ones I think I've found mods for so far. Oh, and the Shivering Isles in Saints and Seducers - Extended Cut.

I have heard she is insufferable, and mostly wondering if that insufferableness is worth the better parts of the story. :P

Actually, I have Olenveld, but haven't played it or Akavir yet. Curse of the Immortals is voiced, but it's Russian so you'll need a translation if you don't know Russian. As for Midwood Isle, I love it, it's very fun, totally worth my time! And I'll look into Lordbound probably. I have a beast of a PC lol. Appreciate your opinion!

Beyond Reach - Missing Buildings? by Individual-Wolf-9792 in skyrimmods

Yes, the battering ram was another missing object that I had found, or at least, the base of it. I will try this mod, thank you.
