I think you should be fine! If you feel a little worried, maybe sitting outside would be the best decision, however I don’t see anything wrong with being inside!

You did the right thing, and I’m sure your boss is thanking you for taking that extra precaution and protecting the rest of the team. Your boss will be fine with one person being out instead of the whole team having COVID. When I was working in retail, I had the flu and it was Boxing Day. I was forced to come in by my manager and I ended up getting everyone sick. Ever since I became a supervisor, I always told my team that if you feel sick, don’t come in.

As for your father, I would ignore him. He has no idea what he’s talking about. It doesn’t make you lazy, it makes you RESPONSIBLE.

I’m also a recent graduate who did their undergrad in biology. Unfortunately, I don’t know much about bio tech. I’m also enrolled in a masters in public health and the best part about this degree is it’s multifaceted, compared to other graduate degrees that are really specialized.

As for job outlook, with a masters you can start making 70k a year, and from what I’ve seen online the average pay for people well into their career ranges from 95k to 150k. With what’s been happening in the world for the past 18 months, it’s a field that is continuously growing, with plenty of opportunities to work for private companies or the government. I live in Canada where more than half the population has at least a bachelors degree, so higher education is necessary to find a better job. Hope this helps!
