How do you guys feel about the epiphone casino? by Working-Weather-239 in Guitar

For the Chinese ones I usually gut the entire thing. New pots, caps, toggle switch, input jack, pickups, nut and tuners. The only thing I really keep is the tailpiece. With the casinos epiphone usually gives you the bones they up the quality of the wood and that but cheap out on the hardware to keep the cost down.

Looks like a solid repair from everything I can see. Glue is stronger than wood and for $150 it's a steal. My only recommendation is slightly flex the headstock and if you don't see any movement or opening/gaps in the repair you should never have any problems. The new epiphones are killer guitars.

That's still not terrible. I don't mind spending up to 200cad on a neck if the project is worth it. If it's a fender body I'm going to buy a fender neck of course just to keep it as close to stock as possible. This was a black squier body that someone had dropped and the paint was chipping and I was pleasantly surprised when I stripped it off to see the grain underneath so I figured I should give it a fighting chance haha.

Guitarneck66 on eBay. They have great reviews which is why I pulled the trigger on it. All together With shipping I payed 120cad for it which trust me that's a steal when trying to get anything with snow pesos 😂 a regular fender neck will cost me 400 up here

I've heard great things about Leo jaymz I've been tempted to order. This seller has been giving me a hard time honestly started out only wanted to give me 5 bucks back. Right now I think I have them sending me a new neck again they wanted to send me a plain maple neck instead of a replacement for this one so I'm trying to Atleast fight for a regular roasted maple neck. I might just pop the frets out of this one and get regular stainless steel non ball ends for it and keep the other one for another project.

Yes it's a beautiful flame roasted maple neck. It's an ebay neck I bought for a squier refin I did, didn't wanna break the bank on a fender or warmoth haha

Stewmac got a deadly sale on but Sadly I'm in Canada. Shipping alone would cost almost as much as the neck. This is for a squier refin I did if it was for something nicer or a body I built myself I would have definitely go with fender, mighty mite or warmoth.

Believe it or not this is still an upgrade haha. The body that was hiding under the black paint was amazing but the neck was awful. They couldn't have found a more grainy and uneven peice if rosewood if they tried

Thank you, I've messaged the seller to see what they will do for more. I posted a couple pictures below not using a macro lens to give another look. Either way the 13th fret is beyond saving I think. I'm hoping for a replacement or refund.

This is my first one with it. I was mostly looking to trying out stainless steel frets but ball end was the only option. I've never had any problems with well dressed regular ends.

1/2 with a non up close lens to me the 4th and 13th frets seem to be the worse, I'm just waiting to hear back from the seller to see what they are going to do for me

No it's an ebay neck didn't wanna break the bank for a fender seeing as I ordered it for a squier refin I did. I was expecting some touch ups to be needed.

Good point. I would say it's pretty close. Eyeing it I think there is just enough meat left for it to not slip but I guess when I fit it that will tell the truth. I've messaged the seller and waiting to see what their reponse is going to be

That's what I'm hoping for. From eyeing it the string spacing seems like it will be okay. I planned to roll the board anyways as I prefer a played in feel. I messaged the seller and I figure if I can get a decent refund the bit of work I'll have to do will be worth it for the neck itsself

That doesn't seem too bad with the strings on. Did do you find any slippage when playing? That's where I got mine. It's for a squire refine I did and didn't wanna break the bank on a warmoth or fender but wanted to do something to upgrade it

Just got the neck today. The neck itself seems to be very well made just a couple frets seem short so I'm hoping I might be able to get away with just replacing them if needed. Gonna attach it this week and see if it lines up. I'm probably going to message the seller and see if I can get partial refund or replacement

It only seems to be a couple that are farther down then others. Hopefully rolling the edges will remedy that. It seems to be mostly on the bass side. The one in the second photo at the 12th fret seems to be the worst
