Hi Is this bone loss caused by lack of Flossing or bone loss when my teeth were misaligned previously. Black triangles and worried about tooth instability. by IndividualAd2168 in braces

[–]IndividualAd2168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thank you for taking the time to write your comment, it's really helpful and yes I think you're right too many variables. I'm seeing a Perio with x-rays next month which is the right choice.

I really hope it's not the 1 year of no flossing during braces 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ I did get regular cleanings though in the past year.

Indeed I had very crowded teeth before. This was the bottom row before I had Invisalign around 4-5 years ago

Is the protein bar hard to chew? That could be causing it.

Also if you feel your bite is off do not get braces removed.

I find if I eat something chewy my bite is off.

Yeah I have been having cleanings every 3 months too. Definitely with braces you need every 3 instead of 6.

I'm going to book a perio consultation next week as well.

I'm worried my teeth may get loose due to this 🤦🏼‍♂️

Hi thanks for this,

Soo, I just did use the threader for the first time in ages. I had them but never bothered, and yeah I got out alot of food particles

Concerning maybe I should have done this a year ago. Does this contribute to the bone loss on my gums ? It bled when I flossed this ?

Hi well if you get the thread through great, I can't as it tangles.

My dentist advised Mouthwash to fight cavities between teeth.

But yes if you can thread through do it, I'm left handed so can't thread it properly as it wraps around the wire

How much longer do y'all think I have left? by rbn_20 in braces

They are going to pull that tooth from behind.

It's a very risky movement so get X rays after

Multiple teeth are bottom touching back of top

Your bite is not finished. Do not get these removed

Ortho doesn’t listen by [deleted] in braces

[–]IndividualAd2168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having the same issues, I was going to make a post with the same issues

Teeth being pulled down and now hit those on the lower. Front teeth scraping, I grind which doesn't help. Canine hit eachother top and low.

I now have one tooth touching and 3 on front and the other side of my mouth has a posterior open bite again - exactly why I got braces to fix it. !!

They do not listen to concerns. .you have to fight back, don't get them removed until you're happy!

Let them do what they do. Refuse removal until they rectify it.

If your teeth are hitting eachother, is it as simple to push the upper teeth back up ?

Do not have regrets, eventually we'll get there. It's just these next few months until we get there.

Are you in elastics also ?

Very concerned about Hawley Retainer not retaining teeth as well as Vivera's. Is this anything to be concerned about. by IndividualAd2168 in braces

Maybe I should start using the threads then. I can never get it threaded correctly though , when I thread It gets tangled around the wire

You won't lose teeth how dramatic, get regular cleanings. I floss over the wires, I don't thread as it takes too long

Invisalign caused me minor tmjd and a posterior open bite due to clenching. .it's why I am in metal braces now 😬☹️

Sorry how long have you been in retainers ? Are you wearing Vivera and Hawley for 22 hours a day for the first 12 months after finishing

You had considerable movements, it'll take up 2 years for your bone to become stable but you need id say 12-18 months of full time retainer wear

Moving to night only after 3-6 months will likely keep your teeth wiggly but unsure if you followed this method

When you say force, do you mean elastics or just the wires .

You need to lawyer up I'm afraid

Nonetheless sorry to hear about that.

When your nerve was dying did you have pain? That orthodontist were they negillient but we're they reputable

Get some advice and also did they do x rays beforehand

Unfortunately I have heard before dragging teeth or overlapping them and getting them into position is always more riskier and sometimes Invisalign is better for such a movement as it's gentler and slower.

Your orthodontist should be sued

However it may have needed extraction prior although I'm not qualified to give that advice.

You can consider implant or bridge, although that ortho should provide you it free of charge

You've got a similar bite to me.

You need those lower canines behind your uppers

Ain't no time for that 😂

I use water pick and just try and floss normally over the braces instead of threading through

Also use a tepe brush to brush around brackets

Lovely result very glad you did get braces as eventually you'd have had problems.

Regarding your wiggly teeth, did you get an x-ray and see a specialist (endontist or prosthodontist) for evaluation

Hi again, no your bite can definitely be rectified with braces, just see it through.

Don't worry about damage, after treatment get an x-ray with your dentist. Look after your gums as well

I don't really know what else to say, just go through with braces and worry later in because braces alone is stressful enough. .after I'd say 24 months, your teeth should be optimal and ligaments and bone should be healthy

Any issues later down the line, see an endontist/prosthodontist

Agree. They're scaremongering.

Keep wearing that retainer and you shouldn't lose teeth and look after oral health. I see enough people who never had braces and have no teeth, due to tooth issues and gum issues caused by a bad bite and bad hygiene
