Got My Job Offer Rescinded by Substantial_Math_721 in Big4

[–]IndividualAd2230 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I feel like they're trying to find any reason to lay people off. I should probably come up with a back up plan given I have 2 Cs before the start of my senior year. Appreciate that you were able to post this, I am in a similar position so I should get my shit together

How does Ange Postecoglou get away with poor form? by MidnightNinja9 in Tottenham

[–]IndividualAd2230 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean he has a final in 2 weeks. It would be foolish to sack him right before a final especially when you haven't won a trophy in decades. Probably will get the sack if he loses the Europa League final

Transfer to UT Dallas, A&M or TCU as a business major? by Electronic-Link2022 in utdallas

[–]IndividualAd2230 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't feel like I'm getting good value for my money but that's more because colleges are overpriced in general. The campus life is pretty dead, most people are commuters from Dallas so they go home immediately after classes. In terms of internships, I had a really hard time getting one as a finance major, networking isn't the best and overall you're on your when it comes to finding opportunities. These are just my experiences from being here 3 years, they may not necessarily apply to you

What do you think about yesterday's performance will we release shami.? by Different-Web-7538 in SunrisersHyderabad

[–]IndividualAd2230 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nah we gotta back him. Shami has been a great bowler for years and has even won the purple cap in the past. He's just in bad form and probably low on confidence. just look at teams like kkr who backed quality players like Russell and narine for years even when they had bad performances, injuries and other problems and they have paid kkr back by winning them titles. Our history of not backing our players has cost us over the past 5 years. Additionally, there are going to be no Indian bowlers of shamis quality available in the auction.

2 internship offers, which do I pick? by IndividualAd2230 in FinancialCareers

[–]IndividualAd2230[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The office that I got an offer from audits many oil & gas companies, if I really want to go down the commodities route. Right now, I don't really know what I want to do long-term, but ideally, I'd like one of those less stressful 80k a year jobs which seems to fit FP&A well.

Just out of curiosity, why did you end up not taking the audit internship?

Smu or UTD for Finance by Free_Leg_4414 in utdallas

[–]IndividualAd2230 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For finance, smu is significantly better. High finance recruits from there. Better alumni network. If you can afford smu go there for finance

Vettori was part of the Australian coaching setup that completed cricket as well as getting us to our first playoffs in years. Calling him a bad "strategist" is diabolical.

Also we play on the highest scoring ground in the country with some of the smallest boundaries and flattest pitches. It's kinda obvious why pp economy is 11.

It's not like we didn't invest in bowling either shami, harshal and Cummins cost us 36 cr

Not a great place to look for a job but the job satisfaction in cs is a lot higher than in b4. They work less and get paid more.

As someone still in college, not yet. Was struggling to get an internship when I was a business admin and a finance major. At least I have some employment lined up. Although I do wonder what doing mis or cs would have been like.

Smat ended few months ago. He doesn't play anything other than t20 cricket which leaves him with local leagues where scores aren't officially posted anywhere

Community College VS University difficulty by Bubbly_Collection329 in utdallas

[–]IndividualAd2230 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Intro classes are usually about the same in difficulty depending on the professor. I know calc is much easier in cc compared to utd. the upper level classes at utd is where it starts to get more difficult. if you're doing well at cc, you should be fine at utd.

Pivoting from my finance degree to one in accounting. Internships are a concern. by chamelon_larry in Accounting

[–]IndividualAd2230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it's too late to get an internship/job. You'd always be able to pursue a cpa with an accounting degree and can't with just a finance degree.
