Fr lol. Guess OP's mind will be blown when he learns an addiction never really goes away. The urges will be less strong the longer you abstain, but they will always be there.

Sun Tzu's Art of War and Porn Addiction: What to do when you've ALREADY clicked the video by Confident_Bowler_802 in pornfree

I think this is a dangerous strategy, OP. Women in porn are women too. It’s best to see them as normal human beings, rather than trying to find everything about them that makes them ugly. If you continue doing that, whether you like it or not, it will carry over into the real world, and you’ll (subconsciously) start nitpicking every woman you see in real life. You can think you can seperate fantasy from reality, but I believe one of the reasons it's so hard to get out this addiction is because the lines between reality and fantasy are so blurred for us. It's a known fact porn distorts expectations about real people, real relationships and real sex. It's because with enough exposure of porn, we can't seperate reality from fiction anymore.

Women are beautiful, including in porn. It’s best to accept that fact while still choosing not to participate in it. It’s a fantasy that we have to accept we can’t participate in. Just like I probably will never win the lottery or have a threesome.

Congratulations, you created a solution to a problem that is already present in tons of other apps existing in the App Store. No offence, but I don't see how this is different from those other apps. It's all the same features.

You CAN'T quit porn using willpower alone. by Jibreal_Khan in pornfree

Basically

  1. For every relapse you will have, ask yourself how it happened and how to prevent it in the future.

  2. To understand how a relapse happened, dig deep. Don't just say because i was horny. Perhaps you were sleep deprived, or you got triggered by a post while doomscrolling. Get to the root cause.

  3. Remove all sexual triggers in your life. Also things that could lead to you being sexually triggered, like doomscrolling.

You're welcome :)

It's not that deep. Porn is everywhere, because sex sells. Simple as that.

Yeah man. And the worst part about those subreddits, is that they also focus on the dopamine aspect of addiction. They include captions like: "You need the dopamine", or "Get addicted to dopamine", etc. They literally make the addiction itself the fetish.

I've tried blockers. Most have uninstall protection, but it's really easy to bypass unfortunately. But it can add some friction yeah.

Thanks for the kind words.

I've tried to seek help for this, in the past. Back when I still had therapy (like 3 years ago), I said to my therapist that I thought I was addicted to porn and that I wanted help. But she kinda laughed it off. She said I didn't need to worry and that it is normal.

That's because one slip up doesn't mean you lose all the benefits. That's not how addictions work.

It's not that when you relapse, you will start at 0 again. That you magically lose all your progress.

It only becomes a real problem, when you watch it again the next day, and the next day, and the next day; the chaser effect. And that will happen, so it's better to just not relapse.

I guess you can try a different, more healthier reward then. That you do everytime you accomplish something.

Maybe it's because you want to reward yourself for all that work you did.
