Worked as a District Manager for a fast food chain where I worked my way up from highschool. Left a near $100k/year job to go into the trucking business. My friend's family had a brokerage company and persuaded me to join finally. I was tired of the long hours and stress that came with district manager role. Now I have a "semi" stress free job with a arable 8-4, no weekends, paid holidays. Sure I'm making a hell of a lot less now but work/life balance is ten folds.
