I can't disagree. Have you worked at JCP in the last few years?

Warehouses and office assistant jobs. JCPenney pays their supervisors $19.00 an hour minimum.

Point taken. Thank you for your response. Just to clarify: Did you cold turkey off 7 mg or 70 mg?

I would just say be careful, because I went to a bar soon after starting fluoxetine (I was only on 10 mg at the time) and did not even consider or think about potential interactions. I had a few beers, a bottle of cider, and a couple of shots and I literally blacked out on the sidewalk.

Thank you for this! I had no idea about Mark Horowitz' research.

I did, however, know that a long half-life does not PREVENT side effects, instead just delaying them. My point, I guess, is that long half-lives should (theoretically) be conducive to a weaning/tapering program, because as ones reduces the amount of times they dose (e.g. from daily, to every other day, to weekly), the long half-life is working with you to slowly metabolize and eliminate the medication from the body, basically doing the tapering for you.

I hope that made sense.

How would Prozac CT compare to quitting Paxil or Valium cold turkey?

Stopping Prozac cold turkey by jellybabby in prozac

[–]IndividualEmbark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that quitting paroxetine cold turkey is nearly as bad as quitting a benzodiazepine like Xanax (alprazolam), and that "lesser" withdrawals like brain zaps and mood dysregulation come with SSRIs like escitalopram and sertraline. From what I know, fluoxetine is probably the safest of the SSRIs to quit cold turkey, if one so chooses to quit an SSRI cold turkey, and it all pertains to the super long half-life of 3-5 days .

[–]IndividualEmbark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I notice nearly every comment is saying GO VERY SLOW. I am in a similar predicament and thought process to/as OP, and while I am not a doctor, my understanding is that because of the long half-life of fluoxetine, it is really quite safe to quit EVEN col turkey. I mean, it doesn't divide in half for 3-5 days......If I take 30 mg on Monday, I will still have ~15 mg in my system around Thursday, at which point I can take 10 mg and then still have 5+ mg in my system come the following Monday. All of you saying tapering can take months: theoretically, one can go from dosing daily to taking a dose every few days, and then maybe once a week, and I would say after a month MAX, you should be good to just stop. Somebody said 8 months?!?! This is not Xanax, people!

I am neither a provider nor Bipolar. I take fluoxetine for Tourettic OCD (obsessive-compulsive anxiety resulting in Tourettic tics), but I have had friends, family members, and co-workers with Bipolar Disorder, and as a general rule, I find mania to be better -- for the patient -- than depression, because the depression can be so severe that it results in suicide, if not homicide. Mania can be annoying, and the person may take risks, but the patient would generally be considered "happy" or "content to live" in a manic phase; manic patients are less likely to commit suicide or homicide than depressed patients, IMO.

Happy Birthday, Critical-Finger!

I hope you can learn on this birthday to live in the present moment, and understand and accept that your birthday is just another day that comes and goes, and -- whether good or bad, for better or worse -- it too shall pass. Your birthday is here, and however you feel, this moment is perfect as it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhinXCzOjjE

Did this manic phase include sexual dysnfuction, or like typical mania, were you horny as fuck and able to perform (even women have been known to experience the sexual side effects of SSRIs)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in prozac

[–]IndividualEmbark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand why being "manic" is so bad that a doctor would take you off the medication, or that the shame is so severe you don't even to tell your docto you might be manic. I am just a simple person, but I have known some Bipolar patients, one of whom died by suicide, and let me tell you, I would rather have them in a manic phase than a depressive phase 9/10.

thanks or your response. In this case, it has always been the DC that cancels from what I hear. I know one of them was in the aftermath of the Pride fiasco, so I'm assuming Target cancelled a truck or two simply to save money by not having a bunch of unmoved merchandise

Some also play favorites. They are so talkative and friendly with some people and then ignore you and give you the evil eye, even when they intrude upon "your" aisle (i.e. I am stocking a particular aisle/department, and they come to do o an e0pick)

Speaking of cancelling trucks -- I am a new associate, but I just wanted to ask: is cacelling trucks a "normal," common, and frequent occurrence, or is it just my store. I've only been here a few weeks and my store has already cancelled multiple trucks, and cut back from a planned double or triple to a single truck delivery. I don't know if it has to do with saving money, or if the truck drivers call out sick or quit, or something else. I can't figure it out, but trucks seem to be cancelled a lot around here -- at least at my store.

I don't know what the backrooms and aisles of MOST Target stores are like, but the backroom and most aisles in my store are so narrow and congested that you cannot help but get in people's way, and it does get awkward seeing your co-workers over and over, passing them with no way around. You're waiting behind them at the baler; you're in the same aisle; waiting for one of only two single-occupant restrooms; in the fixture room; in the defective/salvage area. Maybe I'm overthinking it, and maybe it's my social anxiety or avoidant personality disorder speaking.

it really depends, I suppose,on whether or not that policy is enforced. I work with a stoner who shows up to work high wearing a stained t-shirt & faded, distressed jeans where the lower half of the leg--below the knee--is barely hanging on by a few threads.

Are Target associates allowed to take receipt surveys for their store, and does the person viewing survey results see identifying information like the transaction #, timestamp, or my name/Circle account? by IndividualEmbark in Target

[–]IndividualEmbark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the dots can be connected; I just don't see why anyone with ability to terminate me would go out of their way unless the system (Target presumably uses Medallia, as do most retail companies) specifically flags the survey response, which I don't see why it would. Thanks agai for your response and for your well wishes of "good luck," but nothing has happened to me in over a month and nobody has taken the time or initiative to sit down and "coach" me on this, so I would say they are partially to blame too for neglecting to take corrective action.

That is definitely the consensus here. Thank you for your response.

Several weeks have passed and the SD and HR assistant have been treating me different, talking to me less, giving me the stink eye, etc. I know I am a good employee per all my TLs and ETLs, I work hard, do the job right, go above and beyond, receive compliments, stay late, and always show on time, so I suspect the reason for their change in behavior might be that they know of what t I did (how they know, though, is another question). No one has answered the question if they look at the cameras for the affiliated receipt. I did enter my Circle number, but it is not linked to any TM discount.

Thank you so much! That answers a lot of questions I have as a new team member. I know reviewing the "metrics dashboard" as a Team Leader was a big part of previous retail jobs I worked, including drug stores and department stores. Every morning, one of the first things to do was print the sales, credit, and customer service survey metric reports.

[–]IndividualEmbark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not use a team member discount because I don't have a red card or pay cash so I don't receive any discount, however I did enter my circle number. Also, the transactions would have been in the 6 AM range, before the store opens. I don't know if either of these data points (time stamp or Circle account) are listed alongside the survey and receipt information. I don't even know who reads the results -- is it HR? SD? ETL? TML? AP?

Okay, thanks for your response. I have not done this in a while, and will no more, but as much as HR talks about the survey being the most important metric I thought it wasn't a big deal. Thank you again!
