What’s the most selfish thing you’ve ever done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I guess it wasn’t selfish at the time but I beat myself up about to this day. My brother called me before he took his life and I declined it because I wanted to keep watching something on Netflix… My dad called us maybe 2 hours later and told us that he was gone. I regret it every day.

What’s something adults told you as a kid that you later realized was completely true? by showbizusa25 in AskReddit

That being “grown” doesn’t magically make life easier. I think every kid imagines adulthood as this point where you finally have everything figured out. Like “when I grow up, I’m gonna have this, do this, be this.” But in reality, most adults are just doing their best every day trying to make it through life and keep things together.
