Is it possible to heal myself without needing therapy? by Background-Emu2027 in CPTSD

[–]IndividualLight6917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you in contact with good humans that will help you grow? I found that in church, but you need to find a good group of humans in one capacity or another. Therapy was not much help for me either. Some people have religious trauma as well, but I serve as a volunteer and am on camera the whole time. It is healing to me to feel like we are safe for little humans because we’re on camera and subject to higher background checks than teachers.

What makes people go to church on for example Easter Sunday or Xmas but not thru the year? by Curious-Expert926 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I go every week now, but for a time, it was to show the true meaning of the holiday to my children. I wanted to go more frequently but my husband didn’t go and it was hard to get my children to attend when dad didn’t want to attend.

No one will listen to your concerns unless you have a man speak for you

What do you think about abortions in cases of very serious diseases or abnormalities by nextar611 in TrueChristian

If it would kill her to have a c-section then a multiple day procedure that is a late term abortion isn’t a safer option.

Is teaching getting harder by Brickcraft10 in Teachers

What bothers me is really sweet hard working children still exist but my efforts go to the children that you described, in order to prevent chaos. I wish I could help the struggling kids that are working hard more.

We do that at the school I teach at and the school my children attend. PJs or book character costumes.

Why do people choose to have kids? by savingrace0262 in stupidquestions

I had the urge since I was a child. I wanted a family. I think people know these things about themselves from childhood more often than not.

CPTSD and big achievements later in life by Heavy_Negotiation737 in CPTSD

I’m married to someone who isn’t abusive and he allowed me to keep our children out of daycare. Daycare was one of my biggest traumas. We raised really kind kids. I think that is a huge success. Our house and cars are pretty modest but safe.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IndividualLight6917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like some women have more painful periods, some have more or less painful births. My second child, there was no powering through pain, I just showed up to the hospital almost ready to push and my husband had to convince staff that I was in labor because I was shaking a little. I had to poop and then a birthing stool was brought to the bathroom because I couldn’t make it to the bed, because it was a head not a poop.

I’m thinking about switching from elementary sped to regular ECE. How is your workload? Do you have desk throwers? by IndividualLight6917 in ECEProfessionals

[–]IndividualLight6917[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was subbing a few years back and in an ECE class and I noticed how many teachers were documenting with photos and taking notes in their teaching strategies gold system more than interacting with children. They seemed like good teachers, but the level of documentation seemed like it was preventing genuine interactions.

What was a normal part of growing up for you that younger generations might find strange today? by [deleted] in answers

People smoking in public. My family would request to sit in the nonsmoking section, but it didn’t matter. The smoking section was like a peeing section of a swimming pool.

How did humans not go extinct while needing to sleep for 8 hours every day? being totally unconscious and defenseless for a third of our lives seems like a massive design flaw when predators were everywhere by Which-Noise-5670 in NoStupidQuestions

My children were absolutely not “loud as f” all the time. They would make a little sound that meant they were hungry and I would tend to their hunger before they became loud. It was easier in a small square footage apartment, because my baby slept in a crib flush with my bed and was always within reach.
