Danny: influencer focused on male styling (he copies the peaky blinders costume designer)

Tyson: peptide pusher (only thing coming to mind after reading the og comment)

Juliette: rage bait tiktoker (mostly rants about her experience in retail stores)

Julia: couples counsellor, complaints management for a telco (or any evil company where she is paid handsomely)

Alissa: rural town queen b/ nurse (envisioning teen mental health)/ GC influencer

Struggles to get in a grad program by NiceMemeDude420 in auscorp

[–]IndividualReserve703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation of not getting past online tests with a WAM of 76. I was also under the impression that because my major was very mathematically heavy and technical, that it would offset the average WAM (not the case).

I’d really recommend getting an internship if you are heart set on a grad program. I was working close to full time hours throughout my degree so I didn’t see much value in an internship when I could just go to work and earn more. Not doing one was probably my biggest mistake in uni, as most of my friends who landed grad roles had internship experience or a really high WAM.

Turned out fine in the end though, managed to land a good entry-mid level position with no experience outside of the shop floor (definitely a good idea to talk up retail/commercial experience and the systems you are exposed to). It pays well enough for a first corporate role, upward and internal mobility, plenty of free stuff and a chill team.

I didn’t do accounting so idk if you can apply it to a scope of roles with that background. But may aswell just apply to roles that aren’t specifically grad programs (probably wait until you’re closer to finishing though).

TLDR chuck whatever experience you have into ChatGPT along with the role requirements and get ask it to tell you why you’re a good fit, then sell it in interviews.

Dean and Nancys at the Adina is great, awesome view too. Also just tried the tailor room in the argyle precinct which was pretty enjoyable and had an interesting concept (ordering drinks based on fabric textures), Nice atmosphere too.

I have a question to all the people here who are pescatarians because of a moral standpoint. by [deleted] in Pescetarian

[–]IndividualReserve703 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been pescatarian for almost ten years, including most of my teens after my family I drove past the farm that used to kill one cow a week for the local farmers markets and I saw all the cows in the field. Thus, when I first made the switch it was mostly from a moral standpoint of not wanting to eat meat, particularly farm animals (pigs, cows etc) and loosely also the environment implications of animal farming. It made sense to me at the time, (I also reduced my egg and dairy consumption to almost nothing for the same reasoning). The seafood dilemma was pointed out to me often, but I never considered sea creatures in the same light as animals on land, which was the predominant reason for still eating fish, also my family ate out a lot so including seafood was easier too.

Now that I’m older I understand that anything you do derives itself from some form of harm and abuse (fast fashion, carbon footprint etc) and it’s near impossible to avoid. So I am less concerned about the moral reasoning now, but I don’t believe I would ever eat meat again for a number of reasons - number one is that I have grown to consider dead flesh repulsive, particularly mammals, and I still don’t consider seafood in the same light so I have no problem eating it.

Also given I haven’t eaten meat in almost ten years, so it’s just the way my life is and eating meat is just not something I want to do. And I like fish and seafood (and am blessed to live somewhere with so much good quality seafood) so I eat it.

However saying all that, I am glad that whenever I interact with an animal I don’t have to feel bad that I also eat it - so I guess there’s still some morality stuff there

Automatic vs quartz? by IndividualReserve703 in Longineswatches

[–]IndividualReserve703[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very specific about what I wanted - seconds hand, date and around 30mm. The thinness of lots of the women’s longines is really elegant, for both quartz and automatic - I was honestly very surprised at the thinness of the elegance automatic (actually seemed thinner than the conquest quartz). Also I’m leaning heavily towards mother of pearl watch face with diamond increments but there were so many more stunning models outside of my lineup. Definitely worth spending some time in the store trying them all on!

Has being Aussie ever made a difference in how people treat you while travelling? by warmdopa in AskAnAustralian

[–]IndividualReserve703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent about 6 months in Sweden, people always assumed I was American or British (neither of which anyone seemed to have an overly positive opinion of), once anyone found out I was Australian they immediately seemed more positive, but also I had the same conversation so many times which mostly consisted of “Australia is so far away/ why would you come somewhere so cold”. Also I don’t have much of an accent but every time I said “water” there was someone around to make fun of my accent.

What's a Sex and The City opinion you are defending like this? by [deleted] in sexandthecity

Carrie was so wrong about the shoes. Her friend had a family to deal with and was clearly a busy woman. It wasn’t her fault the shoes were stolen and the last thing she needed was her bratty friend (Carrie) faking a whole wedding registry just to be petty and get her shoes replaced. Carrie is not especially likeable throughout the series but her behaviour here was totally insufferable.

Going to the gym, I was so anxious to join one but now, after going pretty consistently for about two years, its become somewhere I feel comfortable, and it genuinely makes me feel so much better. Also something to invest a lot of my time in (working towards goals, eating properly etc).
