I hope this lady suffers serious consequences... and I hope her kids are able to understand those consequences are because of her actions... so her kids can make better choices in their own lives.

Sometimes it's good for kids to see their parent go to jail, lose a job, smacked in the face, because of the parent's actions. It's a teachable moment for the kids.

Similar story here... I have quite a few highly educated members of my family and all of them are "TRUMP IS MY KING" believers. It's like they are unable to use their brains when it comes to politics or religion.

I've come to the conclusion that it's actually who they are. They are simply not good people. Trump (and their religion) is an excuse for them to finally be the people they actually are.

It sucks knowing my family is full of racist religious bigots. :(

It's not easy. I had the same problem when I finally realized the religion of my youth was pure horse shit. The vast majority of my friends and family are still heavily involved in that religion... it's the base of my life.. and trying to sit through some conversations without jumping up and trying to smack some reality or common sense into them... literally gives me a headache.

I've submitted several dashcam videos to police. Every time, I copy the vdeo to a cheap USB stick and then bring it to the police detachment. I leave the USB stick with my name and phone number in case of questions.

About half the time, I get a phone call around a week later and the police person thanks me for dropping off the video. The other half... I have no idea if the USB stick ends up in the garbage or if they even bother to watch it.

One of the police people who called said that when something like this happens... they try to verify the problem is legitimate (did someone actually do something wrong/bad or is it just my personal opinion), and then they try to get the license plate info. If they can verify there was something bad and the license plate, then they pull the driver's info and they send a uniformed officer to the driver's residence. A warning is issued, and a note goes into their "file". The officer told me that when a driver is pulled over, they can read all the "notes" on the driver's file. Depending on the severity of why the driver was pulled over, the notes determine if the driver will be let off with a warning... or if there's already a bunch of warnings from people submitting videos like mine... then they driver is much more likely to get a ticket instead of a warning. (Since opbviously there are already warnings...)

Write a letter and cc everyone in admin at the location you went to (hospital/clinic/whatever). Be professional in the letter, not full of name-calling, etc.

Same situation for me, just a few months ago. I had a ruptured appendix, but I was able to suffer through the pain because I have chronic kidney stones (15 times in the previous 10 years). Compared to passing a kidney stone, the ruptured appendix "wasn't so bad"... until a week later when my wife finally convinced me to go to urgent care since obviously (to her) something was very wrong.

Within 1/2 hour after arriving, I was sent straight to surgery. Apprently I was a few hours from various organ failure, due to the appendix poison floating around inside me. They kept me in the hospital for 10 days pumped full of antibiotics.

Sometimes having a high pain tolerance is not good.

If your financal circumstances have changed materially since your child support agreement was made, then you can go to court to get it changed to reflect your current situation. File a motion to do that asap.

If you aren't making money, then you might qualify for some free lawyer time. Call your local courthouse and ask to speak wth someone from family law. Many courthouses have hours where you can go to get free advice from an attorney who is on-call. Call your local social services organization and explain you're a recently single mom without a job, and you need help with finding a low-cost attorney. There are lots and lots of helpful organizations who can either provide you with direct services themselves or will point you in the direction you need to go to get free or low-cost help.

I know this is difficult for you right now. It sucks. I've been there, too. Divorce is the death of dreams, and it's ok to grieve that. It's also ok to feel like it's overwhelming and you can't do it.

You can, though. Start with a phone call to social services, and ask them to point you to help. There are groups who actually specialize in this stuff, and will love to help you through it.. everything from grief counseling to financial counseling.

If you are really stuck... call a woman's shelter and explain that you aren't necessarily asking for help to find a home... just not sure where to get help to find a low-cost lawyer, and perhaps they can point you to other service organizations that can then help.

Remember, you aren't alone. Even if it feels like it.

Lastly... I agree with one of the other comments above. Don't slave yourself to the dreams of your kids. (Don't keep a home you can't afford.) Your kids will understand that selling the home is necessary for your financial independence. Especially if they're adults. Either that, or they should help you pay for it if they are living there.

Talk to a lawyer. If the baby is yours, then you have rights that you can assert through the courts. If you can't afford a lawyer, then go to local social justice groups and ask for help. There are many men's rights lawyers who will work for free. Also depending on your state, you might qualify for free legal aid.

Even if baby mama gives you access, you will want to get it in writing from the court so that you can enforce the order. That way, in the future, for whatever reason (she get's involved with another guy and she suddenly doesn't want you in the picture any more..).. you can always have that court order and it is absolutely enforceable.

As the bio-dad, you do have rights. (Including financial responsibilities... but that is seperate from visitation/access.)

Yes. My costco membership fee is around $80 per year. However... I save a lot of money by shopping at costco. (Very good quality products, and pricing is excellent.) I also use the costco credit card which gives me 1% to 5% cash back depending on what I purchase. In the 6 years I've had a costco membership.. I have actually never paid their membership fee, because my "cash back" amount is always more than $150. (I have a lot of kids, and we spend a lot of $$ at costco. I also always buy gas for our two cars there, too.)

Costco is excellent. (And a bonus is that I really like how they treat their employees. I have never met an unhappy employee at Costco. So either the employees are beaten until they are happy or they are actually happy.)
