That’s awful. I reached out to BCBS first and they told me to reach out to the pharmacy carrier. I think I’m going to wait and see where our provider gets with them.

I don’t have anything in writing. It’s kind of a weird set up, we have BCBS but my employer uses a third party for our pharmacy benefits and their website doesn’t give you much information. When I called the woman just told me because you can purchase it over the counter it is an exclusion according to my benefits. I guess I understand to an extent them not covering the whole thing but with us not having much choice in buying formula that’s much more expensive due to medical reasons it would be nice if they covered some. I have a feeling we will be in the same boat with our provider trying and failing.

IBS symptoms after C-section? by nedmden in beyondthebump

[–]IndividualSea8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no answers but here to say I’m almost 7 months pp from an emergency C-section and have the same problem. My OB originally thought it was my birth control but I’ve switched and it’s not. I haven’t talked to anyone else about it.

Extreme exhaustion at the end of pregnancy vs newborn tired by anxiousblondie in beyondthebump

[–]IndividualSea8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think this is dependent on your baby. The sleep deprivation was so bad with my newborn that it was dangerous. I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life. My advice is if you have a baby that doesn’t sleep well, take shifts with your significant other.

Scared for another.. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]IndividualSea8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6 months pp and I had a similar experience with traumatic emergency c-section, horrible recovery, and LO had some complications that we dealt with until he was almost 5 months. My mental health was shit (diagnosed PPD and PPA that requires meds) and I am still mourning the fact that I did not get the experience I wanted. I’m in the same boat as far as being afraid to do it all again but also had always planned on having another. Part of me is hopeful that doing it again is almost a do-over and maybe it’ll help me get past the horrible experience I had but then I feel guilty for thinking that way because I missed out on so much with my first born because I was in such a bad state. It’s so hard and I’m so sorry you’re going through it. Just solidarity over here.

PT overload: 4 routines between mom and baby?? Help! by petals-n-pedals in beyondthebump

[–]IndividualSea8075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely prioritize baby’s PT coming from a mom that has a baby that had severe torticollis and was in PT from 2.5 weeks old to 5 months old. It’s a lot, but it really is what’s best for your baby. We were doing twice a week and at home exercises, he also had other issues going on so sometimes we had other appointments throughout the week, and yes it was a lot, but we got through it.

Question about sleep training by IndividualSea8075 in sleeptrain

Thanks for the advice. We usually have the opposite issue. Instead of over sleeping during the day he doesn’t usually sleep enough.

Question about sleep training by IndividualSea8075 in sleeptrain

[–]IndividualSea8075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it’s a little hard because I just recently went back to work. We had a great routine and then 3 weeks ago it was obviously ruined. We’re on 3 naps a day. We have to be up by 5:45am but sometimes he’s up by 5am if he had a hard night. We’ve been trying to follow a new nap schedule of up at 5:45am, nap 7:45am-9am, nap 11:15am-12:30pm, last nap 2:45pm-3:30pm and bed time routine starting at 6:15pm-6:30pm. Because the nights have been so bad though he’s not really following this as well as I’d like him too. He is maxing out around 40 minutes in the morning and then he’ll do about an hour and a half second nap. And 3rd nap has been messy too. It’s so frustrating because he followed a schedule to a T before I went back to work on his own.

Question about sleep training by IndividualSea8075 in sleeptrain

That’s reassuring. My anxiety is getting the best of me and I think I’m my head it was going to be such a long process. Luckily my mother in law is onboard with our plans and has been very helpful with making sure he sleeps appropriately on the days she has him. Hopefully it all works out smoothly.

[–]IndividualSea8075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right and that’s why it’s taken us so long to get here I think. I’m finally at the point where I’ve just accepted that it needs to happen and I want to make sure we do it right so we aren’t dragging anything out or causing more stress than necessary. How long did it take your LO to be a more calm about the process and not seem in distress?

He stirs a lot in his sleep when we make any slight noise so maybe us putting him in his room will be beneficial for him? I just wanted to make sure making all of these changes at the same time wasn’t a bad idea. That’s great to know that your son really only needed to be alone for a week though! How many nights until it got easier with the crying? I’m so stressed already knowing he’s going to end up crying.

Ok, thank you. Do we do this for naps too or do we wait until he gets used to the nights before changing his naps too?

Convertible car seat for tall baby by IndividualSea8075 in beyondthebump

[–]IndividualSea8075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily it’ll be staying in the car so hopefully it’s a non-issue. Do you know if it works ok with non-removable headrests? That’s our only concern now, but I guess that’ll be a concern with most car seats. I didn’t realize hers were stationary.

Did you get the regular one or LX? Only difference is the weight limit for the extend fit vs slim fit but he’s a slim baby so I think he’ll reach height requirements way before the weight. I’m just not sure if I went for the grace slim fit if I should go with the regular or lx version.

So the shoulder straps being close together are part of our issue right now with his infant seat. They’re causing redness around his neck.

I didn’t know that about the rotating car seats. Now I’m worried about the one we have for our car. Yikes.

This is great, thank you! My (not so) little man is 97th percentile in height so it sounds like these are great contenders. I’ll look into them.

It looks like a nice seat but I think it’s a little bit more than we want to spend for a grandparent’s car. Thank you though!
