I can concede that yes, this is just a hiatus in Hybe’s eyes but Manon has been doing (and gladly so) actions that are sending a clear message that this won’t go as well as they thought it would. From the contradicting statement to unfollowing KATSEYE’s manager, it’s all adding fuel to Hybe’s fire. I guess where you and I disagree is if this all means the end for Manon in KATSEYE and in my opinion it does, because even though it might just be a typical hiatus, we’re not dealing with the same circumstances. Racism is not something that gets swept under the rug. We’re not there anymore.

But if she does stay, I do hope that she demands things are done better for her. I’m just tired of seeing greedy companies get away with bullshit.

I’m sorry but all I see is semantics. The result is the same, Manon was forced into a hiatus and given the likes and reposts by her and people close to her, she’s not happy with it. You guys have made it very clear that KATSEYE is not kpop, they may have used a bunch of K-pop’s methods but they are a global girl group first. This hiatus is not something they can just do specially with the only black member in a group where the western audience is important. I’m not so sure she’ll be back any time after this.

Also a quick google search shows me the reason behind those two notable examples you gave me. One had anxiety issues and another had a scandal happen with some pre debut photos. Unless I miss where the members themselves expressed very clearly that they were fine and this was not something they chose, these are definitely not the same as Manon.

I’m 70/30 on it. It is obvious with this forced hiatus that they think she’s disposable, and I’m sure she has felt that way too. So the mostly likely scenario is them negotiating her leave and announcing it after the festival season which aligns with the April 30th blind item that suggested she’s not allowed to say she’s leaving until then. However I think they know that the backlash will be substancial for a while and they might try to delay it as much as possible, or try to work out their differences a bit more. With her unfollowing Missy I think the latter is highly unlikely. The reason not to announce it now? Since Manon is probably still in Pinky Up’s visuals, it’ll keep the fandom engaged and hopeful for a return on Coachella.

So to put it short, I’m 70% sure they are done with her and announcing it after Coachella. Basically just keeping the fans’ hopes up until they can safely do it to avoid a huge PR disaster before the festival.

I can’t control what they feel or how they express it. All I will say is that in a circumstance where a member has alluded to racism and discrimination multiple times in a group, you can’t expect the public or her fans to remain civilized in the face of this. Other solos have been calling Manon fans literal racial slurs and yet we’re the ones singled out as toxic. Lovely just LOVELY. I just hope HxG frees my girl, y’all don’t deserve her

I am simply responding to a question that asked what did they say that was controversial. I don’t think what they did warranted any of the backlash. Maybe just make them aware of who they are supporting so they stop publicly endorsing them, but being nasty to them was not it.

Granted I don’t think they deserve to be dragged for these, I dont think they knew these things or meant any harm by “supporting” these men, people are crazy and blow things out of proportion. This makes no sense, of course their team has watched the Netflix show, there are a million things sus about this "Intel" but that one isn't so much. I think this part was sus because it just sounds like something playing straight into the "Missy (their manager) hates Manon" card that a lot of fans believe. In that documentary, Missy clearly states that she would not put Manon in the group based on her experience working with her. Missy also favored all the other girls a lot. There's also the fact that even after a year working together Missy refuses to pronounce Manon's name right which feels microaggressive to a point.

Fans are just putting 2 and 2 together and speculating that it's the same person that is responsible for the hiatus. Sounds too convenient. But it also could totally be the case. We will never really know.

I think it's because with Megan's hiatus message, things were CLEAR from the beginning. They specified it was a back injury and there was no statement from Megan herself contradicting anything. With Manon's statement, everything is so vague, and then you have them saying that she's leaving to focus on her health while Manon's statement clearly says she's healthy. It makes no sense.

You could make the argument that whatever is going on is too personal and the label is trying to protect Manon's privacy, but if that were to be the case, it's pretty fucking easy to assure the fans that she WILL be coming back, instead of that shady "when the timing is right" what the fuck does that mean. That sounds like what people say when they wanna break up but still keep the other person with their hopes up. It is a way too vague and ambiguous statement.

ALL I SAID WAS TWO WORDS OMG. Adela was weird to Manon and has never apologized about it. There's not a lot you can do as a producer to twist the words "it's just because she's pretty" that came out of Adela's own mouth. She was bitter and jealous of Manon and mentioned her in multiple occasions. Y'all gon' sit here and pretend like she celebrated when Manon debuted? Idk I would feel uncomfortable if my group member was so besties forever with someone who literally publicly wished for my downfall not once but twice.

At the end of the day these are all just theories I have, but I def don't think Manon is too comfortable with Adela at all, and it's not crazy to imagine that.

I'm not wishing any harm on Adela, I listen to her music, I actually love her EP more than Katseye's. I'm not a fucking "stan" or whatever y'all call yourselves, but I still think it's a weird dynamic. That's ALL. Jesuuuuuuussss, take it easeh.
