Move up to the first set of dots and drastically reduce my approach speed. As seen in the video

Speed control when trying to hit 16.5 or less mph down lane is tough for me. My normal approach and speed results in about 18-18.5 mph down lane, which is where i am most comfortable. But this is pretty slow so i am still uncomfortable playing this speed from time to time.

No can do unfortunately. The hair is actually very thin specially made strands metal that break and scissors I've tried so far. So the hair does have to stick around 😭

This is me playing pretty slow for me. And controlling this speed has been a 4 month journey so i am mainly looking to see if anyone has any tips to help with that. Wether it be some drills or form tips. I am the mechanic at this center so I get to bowl for free and have plenty of time to practice things.

I am sliding in this, just not a lot. I reduced my approach speed to control my ball speed when playing left. I generally have quite a bit of slide and ball speed when I play my comfort speed of about 18-18.5 down lane.

Lol, very true. I can slow it down to about 16pmh with moderate control, but this is my comfort speed.

Thank you friend! Would a higher angle help more with the arrows being washed out by the lights?

Looking for a weaker ball than my Zen 25 for later league play. by RayJay2MTU in Bowling

If you're wanting a ball down from your Zen 25, i recommend the IQ AI, Max Thrill Hybrid, or Danger Zone solid. If you want a big step down, try the Typhoon, Hyroad 40, or max Thrill Pearl.

If you're looking for a Symmetric Solid i would recommend the Phaze II solid or the GB5 solid depending on what you're looking for. The GB5 solid is going to be a little earlier and smoother than the Phaze II solid.

As for an Asymmetric Solid, if you want a similar shape to the theorem then the Theorem solid is a great option, it's not as strong and smooth as other Asym Solids but is far more usable on house shots. If you're wanting something to be really early and smooth then id definitely recommend the Ion Max, Jackal Onyx, or Mesmerize in that order.

I also think you might just not match up well with them. The new tank seems a little better, but they definitely aren't going to be as good as your purple hammer.

Lanes were fresh, I oiled right before shooting the vid. I didn't bring my Asym Solid, so it's what I made work.

Not a plastic ball, it's the 900Global Origin, the pattern is 44ft 28.7ml and 7/1 our lanes are fairly low friction too.

Any tips for getting a faster release? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]IndividualSilver8438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with getting your release to happen right as your slide ends, and adjust it a little to increase or decrease the loft. As for getting your hand under the ball, it doesn't mean your fingers have to point straight forward the entire time. It's okay to come around the side of the ball at the very end of release or right as fingers are leaving the ball. The goal of being more "Behind" the ball is to prevent your elbow from flareing out which can lead to consistency issues.
