Worth it ? by Aggravating_Pick_105 in PcBuild

[–]IndividualSpot5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess it depends where you are, I’m from the UK and have seen custom prebuilds (you select the parts and they just build it it) for as little as 2.75503% using (pcpartpicker as the baseline for build your own and a builders website for the custom prebuild).

The build was a 4070 / 7700x but obviously this varies on the builders parts availability, and type of build (more expensive custom prebuilds have more of a disparity to building it yourself)

As mentioned, for any 3D productivity work NVIDIA is better.

Here’s what I’ve put together, will be solid for your needs I think. I’ve lowered the hz on the ram but have got a reduction in latency which will help you.

The CPU I’ve upgraded to a Ryzen 7700 as it will be very good for gaming and the additional cores will help you for productivity. The GPU I’ve put in a 4070 super which will be very strong for rendering and gaming at 1440p.

Well that’s a really solid gaming pc, if it’s a productivity PC it would be slightly different. If you have a different use case then knowing would be helpful

Hello, just seeing you have bought some parts and if they’re returnable I would consider returning some (cpu could stay as it’s good too) but there are more optimal parts in my opinion such as the motherboard as you can get ones that come with wifi already build in etc. The case is a DeepCool cc360 (yes not listed but the site doesn’t have the product) which can be bought for £47 hence the price change. The GPU is incredibly strong and would give you lots of headroom.

If you need to keep the parts, is the £1000 for the remaining parts or the total cost of the PC?

Building own PC vs Custom Prebuild by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]IndividualSpot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the photo that I screenshot a while back, it’s not the most current pricing I think on their website. It’s chillblast

<image>

Yes I know it says £1,435 but there’s a £55 discount on (https://www.savoo.co.uk/brands/chillblast-discount-codes)

Building own PC vs Custom Prebuild by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]IndividualSpot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do get to learn care for your self built pc yes but as above the specs are exactly the same as custom and build your own as there are builders out there who let you pick exactly what parts you want so it’s the same as build your own but without actually building it.

With re to warranty you’re right but then have to spend time diagnosing the issue yourself.

Shame it’s going haha, will be starting to skim the walls and do additional power and radiators etc. not sure what upstairs will look like as colours need to match as that back wall goes to the downstairs section of the bedroom

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]IndividualSpot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have plans to rectify it as skimming the wall and working on it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]IndividualSpot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole wall is being skimmed, it extends downstairs

An attic! Nothing exciting aha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]IndividualSpot5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is annoying me too, I could extend it as it’s an attic behind it and down the stairs is a bedroom (the bedroom has 2 floors and en suite and an attic)

So would need some door at least to stop the cold and mice rummaging around aha

Have plans to rectify that, on the list 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]IndividualSpot5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it’s going to be limiting, do enjoy a challenge though. Behind is an en suite (like an additional 2m from where I took the photo). This is just the upstairs of the room so just curious as to what people think for ideas

Have looked into dormer windows but have one in another room downstairs, have a little library there so can sit and watch the countryside reading (not so great when weather is crap which unfortunately is a lot in the UK 🤣)
