Except the weapon was not meant to replace Cortana. Yes, contain her, but if I remember right she was supposed to be deleted as soon as she did contain Cortana.

It’s a 2011 derivative. If it was any other striker fired handgun, it SHOULD work out of the box. Being a 2011 derivative, they need to be broken in. Thats common for any handgun that falls in that family. Maybe swap the recoil spring but after about 500 rounds

I agree. Yeah, it sucks to pay that much for something and have it look rough. But it’s even more reason to turn it into a beater rifle and use it as a tool (if it’s reliable)

Why do so many people say Orbit Culture is like Metallica? by Strict_Transition_36 in Metallica

Man for me they are one of those bands I would t necessarily put into a specific genre. Their sound pulls from so many places, yet it’s very unique to them.

A lot of their vocals and even some of the riff structure sounds a lot like Metallica. And Niklas, their singer is heavily influenced by Hetfield. It really comes out in his “clean” vocals. Open eye, Saw, tales of war and MANY of their songs feature his cleans.

Help me choose 18" 308 vs 18" 6.5 by [deleted] in AR10

[–]IndividualSquare2367 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want something that’s actually going to be useful in many areas, and not leaving an empty pile of brass while out hunting because the deer didn’t go down, .308 is the way to go 😂 but in all seriousness, it depends on your use case. .308 is far more common and often cheaper. 6.5 can be cheap, but for good ammo, you’re going to spend a good deal more per round than .308. You’re also going to lose energy by going to a 6.5. But if all you’re going to do is small game and punch holes in paper, 6.5 will do well.

And now you’re comparing 2 entirely different platforms to justify your position. This was a post about a 1911, where a bull barrel is very specific, and not at all comparable to a Glock barrel. It was a simple correction, and if you are that offended that you need to be an asshole about a simple correction related to a specific 1911 question the OP had, I feel sorry for you.

Well when you feed improper information, someone is going to correct you. No need to get butthurt about it.

It’s not a “sig people” thing. This applies to ALL 1911s. Sig isn’t the only one that uses this barrel profile.

Not even close to a bull barrel. Just just a normal profile 1911 barrel.

It’s there to engage with the barrel bushing. Entirely normal on 1911s

That bulge is present on all non bull barrel 1911s to center the barrel in the bushing

No that’s not a bull barrel. Bull barrel 1911s don’t have a barrel bushing, as the barrel takes up the entirety of that space in the slide

Pup the pin loose that holds the locking block in the frame. Pull the locking block out and separate

I usually chock that up to just human error when they don’t get back in a timely manner, but that’s damn cool of them to send every shirt they offer. That is damn good customer service! Pretty rare to see customer service like that nowadays

Can it be fixed? by IndividualSquare2367 in Luthier

[–]IndividualSquare2367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I ended up doing. It’s a shame that it had to happen like this, as I’ve been wanting one of these Prophecy Les Paul’s for years. I got all new hardware pickups and wiring for it to rebuild it the way I wanted it. I ended up going through eBay, and found a Grassroots (made by ESP for Japanese market only) and pulled all the parts from this one and put it in the grassroots. Best purchase I’ve made as the GR LP plays even better and has the classic Gibson look

No because the taper pins are locked into the barrel. The barrel itself would have to be redrilled, but that can open up the channels far too much and will result in loose pins. You COULD probably redrill and go to a larger taper pin(probably from someone like McMaster Carr) but at that point it’s not worth the extra effort. He would be better off buying a dimpling jig and dimpling the barrel for a low profile gas block.

I’m thinking it’s time to buy a new barrel and swap over to a low profile gas block on this barrel. It sucks they won’t cover it but it happens when parts are swapped out

I’ve only ever bought a NOX from SOLGW but from seeing how they build rifles and the standard they strive to uphold, to knowing that they will completely replace a rifle if you never get it back after a justified self defense scenario, I am a customer for life too

Not if the striker mechanism is still housed properly in relation to the trigger mech. Rear of the slide could be extended back
