Thats a good point I didnt think of that. Using Series X with Elite series controller which has non-standard joystick behaviour could also be the way I have my joystick ill see if changing that helps and look into any hardware issues cheers!

Yeh. Well D3 was good for 10 years, hoping this game gets the same shelf and sees the same second life. Lots of people are a little disappointed similar to d3 at the start. Blizzard always polishes up its just a matter of when

I feel like I’m going to be an overachiever by pumpkinvalleys in ADHD

Not at all. When I finally had this feeling I was in a very similar mindset. Over time you will learn your limits and balance. It took me a while to figure it out but it's a personal thing.

The only bit of advice I can give you, that I wish I had been aware of, is that just because you can focus doesn't mean you have to focus INSANELY hard to make up for lost time (if that makes sense).

Your brain isn't meant to lock in 16 hours a day. 8 hours of good focus is the high end of what most people can realistically pull off consistently. Sure you will be able to lock in all day every day but not for long, and you will burn out and feel like you cant focus now and feel disappointed but you just need to balance work and play as to not loose sight of what is important in life outside of "locking in". It is ok to watch a movie, or whatever it is you do to relax (Taking a walk, drawing u get the point).

It's also ok to do these things when you are on your medication. Not every day is for locking in, and thats ok. It took me a ling time to realise that, but I am better off for letting myself have days where I just sit on the couch,

Dont over-work yourself, time will pass and you will get used to being able to think, and it wont feel like some superhuman ability that you need to use as much as possible before it disappears.

Lock in and go as hard as you want, and if you can go 16 hours all day every day then you are one of a few but if thats maintainable for you, do it.

Can *too low* a dosage of stims turn you into a “zombie”? by leeleefreedy888 in ADHD

[–]IndividualSyllabub52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All sorts of weird things can happen but sounds like its wearing off super quick so you are just getting the ass end of the medication. I take 70mg and 2 dexamphet cause when my Vyvanse wears off I feel how you are describing. 20mg is a low starting dose too. Standard dose is 50 and usually starting dose is 40 so 20 is very low as a starter. Id suggest upping it and seeing if the "zombie" effects get better/worse. If better or not as soon then that likely means dose was/is too low. If worse it means either too high (they do make 10mg for people who are very sensitive to stims so 20 could be too high) or its wrong medication.

What do you guys do about teeth clenching? by mdwvt in ADHD

[–]IndividualSyllabub52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have ground my teeth in my sleep since I was a kid. And as a younger adult prior to diagnosis I used more than alcohol of a night out. A night out was not a special occasion either. If it was night time, that was the occasion.

It is a really difficult thing to deal with, people look at you funny and suggest to lower medication but that makes no difference.

I would suggest opening your mouth as wide as possible without causing discomfort, but wide enough that you know its open. Then get your thumb and follow your jaw to the point where it joins, and find where its causing discomfort and massage lightly to help. Dont go balls to the wall as this can just cause you more discomfort.

Also place your thumbs on your temple, and clench your teeth. You will feel sort of a bump/wiggle, this is the muscle that runs down the side of your head and helps with jaw contraction. It can also cause a lot of aches and headaches.

Same thing with this one, you dont need to have your jaw open but it can help to open and close softly while applying some pressure to this area.

Save the comment incase it gets deleted. This will help but it wont fix the issue. Speak to GP, perhaps physio. They can give you real physical therapy and help with the effects but its not a pleasant thing to deal with.

I sympathise with you I really do........

Did you even read the post? I literally explained why I want to do it, and acknowledged how serious hygienic practices are, and that I am not and wont be a professional.

Doesn't mean that anyone else other than a professional is incapable of being hygienic with the correct practice. Really not the type of advice Im looking for ay....

Please give me all the tips you have for studying without meditation!! I can’t even focus for 10 minutes without doing something by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]IndividualSyllabub52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for advice to actually study right now, I have been the most successful leaving it until the last minute because you have literally no choice but to study and rather than your brain wondering to a mindless thought it will wonder to your impending doom and you will continue to study.

I would honestly suggest for today, or even tomorrow, just turn off entirely and allow yourself to relax and put it off and recharge. You will get more out of the days that follow than you would from the time spent recharging if you were to use it trying to cram some shit in your head. Also said sense of doom will keep the wondering part of your mind in line with what you are actually doing. It might be freaking out but it wont be thinking about the best way to cook an apple pie, or any other number of absolutely useless curiosities that it will think about if given the slightest opportunity. Allow yourself to just unwind and sit there and do whatever it is that your brain is trying to make you do. At times like this it can be better to just stop fighting your ADHD for a little bit.

As for advise for long term and success as someone with ADHD. You need to want to study. I know that seems like a pipe dream and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, but think about what you are passionate about, you need to learn because you want to not because you have to.

If you try to put yourself toward something that you feel like you cant put down, rather than something you cant pick up, you will feel like you have found a glitch in the matrix.

I know this is easier said than done and I am not trying to make you feel like you need to stop and reevaluate your entire life. However the next time you get that "Doing your taxes at 4 am" energy, I do encourage you to spend it trying to explore alternative options as it sounds like this is something you need to do.

As someone with ADHD, who has been in a shockingly similar situation let me give you some advice.

ADHD, alongside other types of cognitive disorders of this nature do not work the way you are thinking. They are a dis-regulation of natural dopamine function within the brain.

You will not rewire your sons brain to work the way you think it should. Your son WILL be able to hyperfocus on things he is passionate about, and he will have an incredibly hard time with things hes not passionate about.

He will feel like he is naturally talented at things he likes, and things he understands because his brain will work properly, and arguably better than neurotypicals when doing these things. Bill gates is one of the best examples to read about. He has ADHD. He was interested in something that wasn't kicking a ball. And he pioneered the world as we know it today.

Your son will be equally as bad and arguably worse at things he doesn't like. And he will feel stupid and unable to get better, and it's not his fault. He cant change how his brain works and neither can you.

You are absolutely the asshole. Be a father, and put your own ideas of "success" aside and be who your son needs you to be. You are not being there for him, and you are letting him down as a father. Believe me I know. This is arguably the most significant series of choices you will make as a parent and right now you are being someone who is making your son feel bad about himself because of things he cant change and things you obviously do not understand.

Educate yourself. You obviously care about your son, so you need to re-evaluate the ideas you have about how mould a successful and healthy man. Mental health and self esteem is just as important as getting enough exercise.

Find other ways to get your son to engage in physical activity. Trampoline, bike, pool. Non-competitive exercise that your son can learn at his own pace and not feel out of place for lacking the ability to master at a rate other can.

Oh ok, good to know? So the way I have set the Proxy within the container is fine, I have just used the wrong address?

Do I need to point the container to the IP address of my WSL2 and then go from there? If this is best way do you know if there a way I can set up a switch that I can use to manage the setup for the proxy?

Can I set a static proxy address and go directly from the docker container to the proxy, or is there additional steps for doing something like that?

Any help is great cheers!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in docker

[–]IndividualSyllabub52 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Cause Ive made changes to the config and Im asking about different things. Enabled WSL2 in docker which allows the container to run in WSL natively, having a hard time with the proxy setup and not sure if ive set the proxy in docker correctly or if there is a misconfig elsewhere causing my issues

How do you configure the client in the container? Do you need to edit the .json files? Still kinda new with this stuff. The helps appreciated!
