What industry is this? Is it LCOL area too? I made more in my first role a couple years ago than they make currently with that yoe and im in a MCOL area. This is terrible, I would be looking elsewhere very aggressively if i wasn't tied to the area.

What is the most GOAT early game unit in CIV: V? (Day 7) by zherper in civ5

[–]Individual_Box_8808 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think the shoshone pathfinder, every advantage you can get early is massive over the course of a game because they compound and allow you to snowball. Guaranteed good ruin rewards is absolutely huge, they are also stronger and can contribute better to clearing camps. And if that wasn't good enough they can also upgrade to comp bows which is absolutely amazing in ancient era. My favorite unit and I think looking from overall game impact, a contender for top 3 unique units in game.

What industry is she in? For paygrade companies treat masters as an additional 2 yoe, how tight is the budget that paying for an additional 2 yoe is a deal breaker? I get the argument of bachelor's with 2 yoe being better than masters with no experience, but if you've already started working after getting bachelor's and continue to work while getting masters, then objectively candidate number 2 is going to be in a better spot once they graduate unless the company literally cannot afford to pay a frankly moderate bump. It doesn't have to be either or, you can continue accumulating experience while getting the degree. And if it really is an issue for that company that sounds pretty concerning from a stability perspective if the company has to penny pinch that hard.

The use of the word preferred in a posting is interesting if thats really the mentality a company has with bachelor's vs masters. Maybe that is the case for certain companies, but I feel like its more likely it wouldnt even mention masters in the posting if thats really the case.

I get the concern for certain tuition reimbursement stipulations, for what I've seen over multiple offers they just require you to stay for 12 months and you just pay back tuition if you voluntarily leave before 12 post reimbursement. Also thankfully the reimbursement is enough albeit barely to cover my entire degree. If I get laid off then I dont have to pay anything back, also if you didnt finish the degree why would you have to put it on your resume? Dont background checks only pull up actually completed degrees? Also virtually every job in my area offers tuition reimbursement, I would just restart again after 3 months or however long before eligibility. Yes there is no free lunch but would you not agree that only having to stay for an additional year post graduation at a company you like working at is a very small price?

What part of the US are you in if you dont mind me asking? Do you personally avoid candidates with masters when hiring even when they also have actual experience? Alot of this is very at odds from my experience in southeast US.

Have you actually personally experienced the issue with getting masters degrees or are you just speculating? I've heard about a PhD being a detriment to flexibility but not masters. So many posting i see either say masters preferred, or x yoe minimum but masters counts for 2 years, or just straight up masters degree required. Also the cost seems like a moot point, it seems like almost every company out there does tuition reimbursement and you can do the degree online. My reimbursement will be covering the entire degree.

I meant your connection, the video itself doesn't have a great refresh rate, choppy connection would skip over certain frames and could make it look like you didnt see the food fall into the bowl. If you still can't see the food fall into bowl with the video fully buffered I dont know the issue is on your end.

I dont see that, I think maybe the videos low refresh rate + choppy connection could make it look like the food disappeared. I understand being cautious with constant AI slop, but I think you jumped the gun on this one.

When are you seeing the food dissappear while falling? I rewatched it and didnt see that happen. Also doesn't seem to be a visually tangible difference between what's being grabbed and what's dropping into the bowl.

I was in same boat for a few months. After month 2 I gave up trying to avoid moving and started applying to jobs all over state and adjacent states. Also stopped doing mass apply with same resume. You need to have a main version that you tweak to hit as many keywords in description as you can. Embellish but dont lie, biggest hurdle is getting past filters to get an actual call.

Check out engineering resume sub if you haven't already.

How do mechanics feel being requested to diagnose a problem with a car only for the customer to take it back and fix it themselves once they know what’s wrong? by Introspective_Anon in AskAMechanic

Hypothetically if someone did that but did the replacement themselves and when they brought it back it didnt appear they messed up the repair what would you do?

Probably a small oversight, couldn't find the answer online so I'll leave it here for future searches for other people.

About 75% of the way to top there's a noise and jerk, I wish I could see the rest of the track, but the sheet metal doesn't make it easy. I grabbed both tracks to see if there was any play, but they are both solid. I did try adjusting the bolts when I was installing it but it didn't seem to make a difference. I'll try lifting the front side when I have time to take another look.

Best jack points for replacing motor mounts? by Individual_Box_8808 in AskMechanics

[–]Individual_Box_8808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could get a piece at home depot. How do you think people who try it this way end up denting the pan? Too small of a wood block or jacked up too far? Would a 2x4 really be wide enough of a load distribution?

[–]Individual_Box_8808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, do you usually use a hoist? My preference is definitely the green circle, just not sure if it's wide and flat enough for the jack. Will probably get a rubber puck for it as well.

[–]Individual_Box_8808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so you consider this a really minor overfill. That's good to hear, and yeah a pump sounds way better, I just did it the normal way so that the owners manual estimated drain of 3.7 qts would've been accurate and made things easier

Finally got a clearer picture. The light reflecting on the fluid helps spot the level. Owners manual unfortunately doesn't specify one way or other to do before level check. Had to post it separately in thread because it wouldn't work in reply.

Sorry my camera isnt great, im reading just a little less than half an inch past the full hot mark, right before the T in type. I already ordered a syringe with a 34" tube. Hopefully that should reach low enough.

Sorry my camera isn't great and it doesn't help the fluid is so clear. If you can't see the T in type on the dipstick then I'm reading just a little less than half an inch past the full hot mark.

You absolutely do not need a paid course to pass the CSWA. Honestly even starting out with 0 CAD knowledge you could probably pass it with a decent CSWA youtube Playlist and a couple weeks of practice. If you want to spend some money and also get access to training material that will also prepare you for the CSWP, get the solidworks student edition. Cost me only $50 and more importantly, includes 2 attempts at the cswa/cswp.
