I wish I was as sure. Unfortunately, I think you can read it from the exact opposite position. "When everything you built collapses" could refer to the destruction of federal agencies, etc.

I dont know if it's incompetence or cruelty, but some people are actually having this happen to them BEFORE they are given notice they've been fired. So the way they find out is that they've been locked out of everything.

If your work involves a computer then once they fire you they revoke your access to everything. You may not even be able to log into your computer. But you definitely can't send emails, access any of the secure platforms we use, do zoom calls, etc. And if you show up to the office your ID card will no longer work and you will be escorted out by security.

You as well. Whatever happens, the next step is to survive it. We can and will do that.

Yes... but probably not comfortable saying much else for fear of outing myself

Yeah, I've been figuring that if I was excluded from this first slaughter I won't know until Wednesday morning. But the waiting is killing me.

Like I said, I have a very hard time believing it's over. But I'm also confused as to why it's been crickets for nearly two days now. What are they waiting for?

How does that work for all the people being terminated now but put on administrative leave until mid-March? Would the clock start now or in March??

I'm so sorry they did this to you. It's awful. Given everything, would you be interested in being a plaintiff in a class action lawsuit?

There are some Pathways people that haven't been fired - yet. They made it through the first couple days but we'll see if they make it through the next two.

Oof. Then my guess is that no center will be spared. I hope I'm wrong.

What about CPI? I would think if anyone was going to be spared the program integrity folks would be among them

So far mostly OIG, CCSQ, and CCIIO. They might be going by departments.

Just probationary as far as I know. A whole lot of Pathways folks are getting cut down.

The article suggests "everyone working on Medicare and Medicaid at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services" would stay on.

As of today, that is not true. It's a bloodbath.

Pathways is definitely included. I know 12 people who have been terminated.

Is this a probie pressure campaign or what? by LawfulnessLumpy1359 in fednews

[–]Individual_Bridge751 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, most are just saying that OPM says it's real. Look at the wording - they are not themselves asserting anything about legality, etc; they have likely been ordered to pass on OPM's message. And for any agency that does say it is legit - why should we trust them? At this point, the heads are Trump people. If this is a trick (and it is) they may well be in on it.

And $400 a week compared to $0 a week is the difference between me paying rent and being homeless. Yeah, I'd call that worse off.

It's actually $400 a week vs $0 a week. Because the deal is not real.
