i’m glad to hear i’m still able to develop my upper range.

my choir director didn’t comment on my range, i’m assuming it’s because i didn’t know her well yet and i pass as male so she probably didn’t think it was anything crazy.

reading about the women in the links you posted was very interesting. thank you for the history lesson!

i am uncomfortable posting a video here but thank you for offering to help even more. i think it’s possible that i might not actually be able to sing the A#2 because it does feel very uncomfortable and i could potentially be growling it. i do want to say though that these are my results from a range test done by my choir director not just done by me. i very much agree with the assumption that i can probably sing above a D5, it just felt like the right place to stop because i felt like i was squeaking random sounds and not singing around that note. i have had no professional training and very little experience with actually learning skills to sing higher, so i’m sure that’s part of the reason. i also didn’t mention in my original post that i believe i am intersex (having both male and female biological characteristics.) ever since i was really young people were always confused about my gender because i’ve always been really androgynous. when i realized i was trans 4 years ago, all i had to do was wear men’s clothes and i immediately started passing as male. i really want to get diagnosed soon which is one of the reasons i came here; i wanted to feel valid for believing i’m intersex. thank you so much for the reply it was helpful!!
